A message from the Director...

While our doors are closed, Waterloo Public Library staff members are working to deliver and develop online services and programs to help our community make it through this challenging time. Though we are grateful to be able to serve the public in these ways, our hearts are heavy that we cannot open our doors each day and interact with you in person.

As we continue to follow the recommendations from our state, county, and city leaders, all of May’s in-house programming has been cancelled. With summer quickly approaching, the Waterloo Public Library has also made the difficult decision to change the way we deliver our summer library programming. All adult, teen, and youth summer library programs will be virtual.

Our staff is currently working to retool some of the previously scheduled events for virtual delivery and we are excited to bring you a new service that will keep everyone connected to reading this summer. More details about our virtual summer programs will be coming soon.

Lastly, I want to share how very proud I am of the work our staff has accomplished in this time – we have adapted quickly and creatively. I would also like to thank our community for their patience, understanding, and continued support.
We are all in this together and the Waterloo Public Library continues to be here to support you on this journey. Stay safe and well and remember, we are #cedarvalleystrong.
WPL's New Facebook Reading Group
We invite you to join the discussion. Because we are spending so much time at home, we thought it would be fun to create a group where we can easily share and discuss what we are reading. In this group, we’ll tell you about newly added items to our collection and share library resources to assist you in finding your next great read. We encourage you to join and share what you've been reading! Join here .
