Just like you, AFCI is in a period of resuming to behaviors close to pre-pandemic times. Once again we are committing to attend several conferences during the 2021-2022 school year.

Listen

The most important thing you can do when you first discover or are told that your child is gay (LGBTQ+) is to listen.

Do not worry if you do not understand: we are all in the process of learning. No one instantly knows all they need to know.

Be available, be patient with them and take time to actively listen.

What can you say to your child when you do not know what to say?

Say, "I love you. You will always be my child. I don’t understand but I want to learn more."
