Establishment Republicans Ignoring the Clear Mandate Delivered by Voters

Urge Rep. Will Metcalf to Vote for the Republican Caucus Nominee for Texas House Speaker

Scroll Down to Take Action

For too long, Texans have suffered under a Republican-led House that cooperates with Democrats and liberal special interests to block clear directives from the voters who elected them.

In the last Texas Legislative Session, we watched as promising bills were put forward, only to be stalled and ultimately blocked by committee chairs appointed by former Texas House Speaker, Dade Phelan, who President Trump famously called “California Dade” for his alignment with Democrat policies.

In response, Montgomery County (and all of America) just delivered Republicans the clearest mandate we’ve had in decades—one that goes all the way down the ballot. We want our beloved Lone Star State and our great nation back.

Yet, in an astonishing move, a group of 26 Texas House Republicans, including Montgomery County's own Rep. Will Metcalf, is turning their backs on the mandate from voters and once again working with Democrats to get their choice for Texas Speaker elected!

A great explanation of what's going on in the Texas House.

The Montgomery County Republican Party passed a resolution on December 14 calling for all members of the Texas House Republican Caucus, including Rep. Metcalf, to immediately unite behind the properly nominated candidate for Texas House Speaker, Rep. David Cook.

The Resolution calls on Rep. Metcalf “to publicly disavow participation in Rep. Dustin Burrows’s attempt to secure the Speakership against the wishes of the Republican Caucus using a majority-Democratic coalition and to publicly support Rep. Cook in accordance with the Caucus vote and with the Republican Party of Texas Platform.”

Rep. Burrows and his minority group, including Rep. Metcalf, who walked out of the Texas House Republican Caucus on December 7.

You can read the details of the Resolution here. Click below to contact Rep. Metcalf and urge him to publicly support the Republican Caucus nominee, David Cook, and abide by the terms of our resolution.

Merry Christmas, Montgomery County! As a new optimism sweeps America, we have so much to be thankful for. The biggest election of our lifetime profoundly changed the direction of our country. I’d like to take this opportunity to put aside politics and praise God for giving us a chance to save our nation.

Thanks to everyone's generosity, we were able to collect gifts for more than 50 local children, benefiting Child Advocates of Montgomery County, a local organization providing hope for kids struggling with difficult or traumatic situations and working to prevent the trafficking and exploitation of children.

Thank you to the Art Aguilar Law Firm for sponsoring this wonderful event and making it such a fun night for everyone.
