Update From County Chair Gwen Withrow

On October 2, 1835, ordinary Texians at Gonzales stood their ground against tyranny with a bold message: “Come and Take It.”

That spark lit the fire of the Texas Revolution. It was the very first stand in a long fight for liberty, one that would ultimately lead to San Jacinto and Texas’ independence.


Today, nearly 200 years later, Texans face new battles. The enemies may not march under Santa Anna’s flag, but they come in the form of government overreach, open borders, Chinese land buys, and attempts to silence conservative voices.

Texas GOP Announces DJ Fike as Volunteer of the Year for Senate District 4

Precinct Chair Filing Continues

Precinct Chairs are elected by Republican voters on the Primary Election ballot to represent each precinct as the voting members of the Montgomery County Republican Party County Executive Committee (CEC). They are the closest elected representatives to We the People and have a profound effect on the overall strength, influence, and success of the county party.


If you'd like to run as a Republican Precinct Chair on the Primary Election ballot:


✅ Read the Qualifications & Duties of a Precinct Chair.


✅ The boundaries of several existing voting precincts will be changing effective January 1, 2026. There also will be eight new precincts added! Click here to see if your precinct will be affected.


✅ Application forms are available at the Montgomery County Republican Party Headquarters or may be found on the Secretary of State’s website. Click here for instructions on locating the proper form.


✅ Fill out your application but DO NOT SIGN it until the notary

stamps it. A notary is available at our Headquarters. Please call before visiting if you need notary services.


✅ Turn in your completed, notarized form at our Headquarters during the dates/times indicated on the calendar shown above and on our website, or email to chairman@mctxgop.org or secretary@mctxgop.org.



✅ Filing closes on December 8, 2025.
