MONTGOMERY COUNTY REPUBLICAN PARTY

SEPTEMBER 2025

Update From County Chair Gwen Withrow

As we process the loss of Charlie Kirk, it is my most sincere prayer that our country and even the entire world experience the greatest revival since Pentecost.

Blessed be the Lord for giving us the opportunity to save our nation and therefore pass to our children and grandchildren the freedom our forefathers gave to us.

It is up to each of us to step forward and provide the elected officials our country needs at this time. Voting is a privilege and a right we should all hold dear. We must vote responsibly.

Prepare for the November Election

Please make sure you take the time to view your personal sample ballot before you vote in November. The measures we will be voting on are complicated and require thought and reflection. You do not want to be reading them for the first time in the voting booth. Visit our Upcoming Elections page for more information on the November election.

I attended a fundraising dinner with the Montgomery County Republican Women on September 18. It was a delicious meal and fun time for all who attended. Money raised by the Republican Women will be provided to candidates next year for the November 2026 General Election.

A day of training for candidates running for election was provided by the Leadership Institute on September 12 in Conroe. Several candidates who are planning on running for office were present. We need to thank all of the candidates who run for office because they provide you, the voter, a choice when you cast your vote. It is important to provide this training to candidates as it is a difficult, all-consuming task to run for office.

Precinct Chair Filing Is Now Open

Precinct Chairs are elected by Republican voters on the Primary Election ballot to represent each precinct as the voting members of the Montgomery County Republican Party County Executive Committee (CEC). They are the closest elected representatives to We the People and have a profound effect on the overall strength, influence, and success of the county party.

If you'd like to run as a Republican Precinct Chair on the Primary Election ballot:

✅ Read the Qualifications & Duties of a Precinct Chair.

✅ The boundaries of several existing voting precincts will be changing effective January 1, 2026. There also will be eight new precincts added! Click here to see if your precinct will be affected.

✅ Application forms are available at the Montgomery County Republican Party Headquarters or may be found on the Secretary of State’s website. Click here for instructions on locating the proper form.

✅ Fill out your application but DO NOT SIGN it until the notary stamps it.

✅ Filing closes on December 8, 2025.

Please contact us if you have any questions!

Precinct Chair filing has begun! Congratulations to Precinct 108 Chair Graham Church (shown at right) for being our first to file and Precinct 88 Chair Charles Shirley (at left) for being our second!

Where Are the Elijahs in America?

by Dr. Hernan Castano, Senior Pastor, Forge Journal Contributor

If there is to be a restoration of the moral laws in America, a comeback to the very foundations of faith, it will only be possible if the Elijahs of our nation come out of the caves of silence and fear and return to their God-given assignment in leading the nation to justice and righteousness.

Republican Party of Texas Issues Rule No. 44 Notice to 10 House Representatives

On Saturday, October 11, the Texas GOP State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) will convene in the Texas Capitol to deliberate on a Republican Party of Texas Rule No. 44 resolution of censure against 10 House Representatives.

The resolutions were received from County Executive Committees and will be included in the Resolutions Committee report on October 11 for consideration by the SREC.

Under Republican Party of Texas rules, the SREC can determine what, if any, penalties to impose. Penalties can include withholding party resources, publicly discouraging the officeholder from running, or refusing to allow a censured candidate on the Republican Primary ballot for two years.
