SB1436 Passed the Senate!

πŸŽ‰Exciting News! VBCF's priority legislation, SB1436, was unanimously passed by the Virginia Senate yesterday, January 30th! We are thrilled that this important legislation received such overwhelming and bipartisan support! The Bill will now "crossover" to the House for consideration next week. Crossover is the mid-point of the General Assembly Session. Starting Wednesday, February 5th, each house may consider only legislation and amendments of the other house.

Please consider sending your State Senator a quick email of gratitude for their support. You can find your Senator's contact information here: Who's My Legislator.

We are still keeping an eye on the companion House bill, HB1828, which should be voted on by the full House Appropriations soon.

Thank you again for your advocacy!

Background:

HB1828/SB1436 will eliminate the high out-of-pocket costs (co-pays, co-insurance or deductibles) that many patients face when getting follow-up diagnostic or supplemental breast imaging, including diagnostic mammography, ultrasound, and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging).
