Last week, we recognized and celebrated more than 150 volunteers and community partners at the Inaugural SPS Community Partner and Volunteer Celebration.
When I looked around the room, I saw the heart of our community – volunteers and community partners who are actively engaged in serving alongside us. Volunteers are found in the classroom, at home working on projects to support our teachers, accompanying students on field trips and field days, and even in the lunchroom wiping down tables. Partners are seen across the district as guest speakers, leading tours at their place of business, offering shadowing opportunities and internships. Together, they form the driving force behind so much that supports our strategic plan and mission, and we are immensely grateful for their contributions.
As the superintendent of SPS, I’ve had the honor of witnessing the invaluable partnership between our volunteers and community partners in schools across the district and at events throughout the year. I see firsthand the profound impact they're making in the lives of our students and staff, and the positive change they bring to our classrooms.
When I review our volunteer impact numbers and hear stories of how partners are supporting the district, I am truly in awe of The Collective effort. It is abundantly clear that we need volunteers and community partners because the work we do simply cannot be accomplished without your vital contributions.
Thank you for the lives you are changing and the difference you are making in our community.
In Partnership,
