SCHOOL SERVICES of MONTANA
EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!
A Few Words From Our NEW
Executive Director, Melissa Tovaas
|
|
Iād like to take this opportunity to show my appreciation and gratitude to Tom Franta for his 4 years of service as the SSoM Executive Director. Under Tomās leadership, we not only survived a pandemic, we evolved into a thriving non-profit education service organization in Montana that continues to creatively respond to the changing needs of our schools. In 2016, I became a curriculum consultant with SSoM to support the Montana Education Curriculum Consortium and moved into a full-time position as Director of Education Services 2 years later. In that role, I planned and implemented professional learning opportunities across the state, as well as provided leadership to MECC.
While I have some big shoes to fill with Tomās departure, I am honored to be stepping into the role of Executive Director at School Services of Montana to support our talented staff in providing vital services to schools across the state. As I transition into my new role over the next few months, I will continue to lead Education Services and carry out our 2022 - 2023 plans as I seek out education professionals to support this department. I am truly excited about collaborating with our staff, board of directors, educators, and partners to continue serving SSoM member districts and schools in Montana to meet their unique needs.
