STEEPLE RESTORATION AT

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN CHURCH

John’s Lutheran Church in Ancram was established in 1846 and the church erected in 1847.

Since its inception 175 years ago, numerous additions and improvements have been made to preserve the church, which is on the New York State Historic Registry.

Since 2020 the congregation has been focused on preserving the stained-glass windows. To date, the repair of five windows has been completed at a cost of over $70,000.

During the process of the window repairs, we discovered that our steeple needs immediate repairs. The price for this project is estimated to cost $46,000.

Our small congregation has tried to cover these expenses but we find ourselves depleting our very limited funds.

While our congregation holds a few fundraisers each year to in support of the church, we are reaching out in hopes that you may choose to donate to our cause directly and help defray the costs associated with maintaining the preservation of our beautiful an historic church.
