#1 - Student Admin's Standard Advisement Report and changes to Catalog Years

#2 - General Education can be replaced with Common Curriculum

#3 - Access to Advising this Summer

Student Admin reopens to current students on July 30th at 9am.

#1 - FINDING YOUR CATALOG YEARS - NEW

You now have distinct Catalog Years assigned to your:

  • General Education or Common Curriculum, known as the Undergraduate Career
  • Business Program
  • Major in Business
  • Minor (for those students in a minor)

Dual Degree students or those with 2 or more minors would have distinct ones for each. As a reminder, these determine which set of requirements for the university, major, or minor that you follow.

Found ONLY on the PDF version of your Standard Advisement Report:

Academic info graph showing undergraduate career and program and major.

You access this pdf by selecting the "View Report as PDF" button. Here are the directions to accessing these: Viewing Your Standard Advisement Report - Student Academics and Services - UConn Knowledge Base

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT PASS/FAIL?

  • Business students cannot put any business courses on pass/fail, including these subjects: ACCT, BADM, BUSN, BLAW, FNCE, HCMI, MEM, MGMT, MKTG, and OPIM

  • Neither business students nor students seeking to apply to business can use business critical courses placed on pass/fail to satisfy their critical course requirements. If one of these is placed on pass/fail, the course will need to be retaken to fulfill the requirement

  • Only electives that are NOT business courses can be placed on pass/fail. These courses may be placed on pass/fail per the Pass/Fail guidelines as outlined in the catalog noting that “courses placed on Pass/Fail may only be used as electives; they may not be used to satisfy the General Education Requirement, the major or related requirements, the skill requirements, the minor requirements, or any school or college course requirement.”

  • No student may place more than three courses (no more than 12 credits) on pass/fail over the course of their undergraduate career.
