MESSAGE FROM THE DISTRICT CHAIR
It’s an exciting time, here in Eno River District. The hold has been lifted on target sports and we are rescheduling the Cub Target Sports event - watch for an announcement soon.
We are working on a paddle sports event for Cub Scouts - this one takes a lot of planning, due to all the rules around water activities. We should have an announcement within the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, I recommend that packs have a swimming outing, where everyone can do their swim tests.
June 14 and July 26 are camping nights at the Durham Bulls. This is not Scout specific, but many Scouts do attend. More information is on the Bulls website at https://www.milb.com/durham/tickets/camp-out-nights.
Jen Finch has taken on the role of District Popcorn Kernel - YAY and THANK YOU, Jen! If your unit is already planning to sell popcorn, great. If not, please consider it - it’s a great way for Scouts to learn sales skills, for your unit to earn some money, and for the council to earn some money. The first step is identifying a unit Popcorn Kernel.
I’m excited to let you know that Scott Cook, Eagle Scout and one of my former Scouts, has taken the role of District Civic Service chair. We are working on a few district-wide community service projects - stay tuned.
Troops will be heading out to summer camp shortly. I have great memories of my time at Camp Namekagen, in northern Wisconsin. Though the camp no longer exists, my memories linger on. Leaders, on behalf of all the Scouts, thank you for making great memories for your Scouts!

DE MINUTE
School is ending, and summer is nearly here. Have fun at camp and all the high adventure camps. Remember that incident and near miss reports are important, too. They are one of the ways we implement and improve upon safety for our members.
Please consider filling the volunteer role of New Member Coordinator with your unit. This is an important volunteer role. They act as a representative to new members and families. There are many year-round schools that start in July now. Families will be looking for activities for the summer and the start of the school year soon!
Yours in Scouting,
M. Dawn Greenwood
