DAY 1

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" Matthew 6:33.

We thank You, Lord, for your unwavering love and provision in our lives. You are sovereign, omnipresent (everywhere), omniscient (all knowing), and omnipotent (all powerful). Therefore, you have earned the right, to be FIRST in our lives. Before any decision is made regardless of how big or how small, help us to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness Help us Lord to live each day with a passion for your kingdom and a commitment to your righteousness. In Jesus name, Amen

SUMMARY
MATTHEW 6:33

Matthew 6:33 is part of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, where he teaches about various aspects of righteous living and spiritual priorities. In this particular verse, Jesus addresses the crowd's concerns about their material needs, such as food, clothing, and shelter. Instead of worrying about these things, Jesus instructs them to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.

By placing God's kingdom and righteousness as the foremost priority in our lives, we align ourselves with His will and purposes. Seeking God's kingdom means actively participating in His work of redemption, love, and justice in the world. It involves living according to His principles of love, compassion, and integrity.

Furthermore, seeking God's righteousness entails pursuing a life characterized by holiness and obedience to His commandments. It involves aligning our thoughts, words, and actions with God's standards of morality and righteousness.

Jesus assures his listeners that when they prioritize seeking God's kingdom and righteousness, their material needs will be taken care of. This does not mean that we should neglect our responsibilities or stop working, but rather that we should trust in God's faithfulness to provide for us as we seek to honor Him with our lives.

In essence, Matthew 6:33 teaches us the importance of having our priorities in order. When we seek first God's kingdom and righteousness, everything else falls into place, and we experience the abundant life that God intends for us.
