We are almost at the end of senior year! Congratulations on all your hard work!! This is the last of our senior bulletins, but please reach out to Ms. Igwe or Ms. Blakey for anything you need. They will be your counselors until June 17, at which point you will transition to the counselors on our Post-Secondary team! If you haven’t already, please be sure to attend our Phase 2 Kickoff on June 8th to meet your counselors for next year. | |

If you are attending a public college/university, HBCU, or a university in DC, make sure you apply for DC Tag! Applying for scholarships is a way to tell your story in different ways and get money for your achievements, successes, and resilience. We can't highlight enough how important it is to apply for scholarships. Setting yourself up for financial success in the future is so important. | |

Applicants must submit a short online form and answer in 140 characters or less how they plan to use the scholarship money.

- Have a cumulative GPA between 2.0 and 2.99
- Be enrolled or plan to enroll in an approved trade-related program at an accredited four-year or two-year college, vocational, or technical school, or other approved technical institute in the United States.

Description: Scholarship open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into a college/university, trade school, or design school. Eligible applicants should be intending to study one of the following: Arts - fine arts, music, performing arts, or visual arts; Natural science - biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, or earth science; Social science - anthropology, economics, geography, political science, sociology or history; languages; linguistics; literature; mathematics; Philosophy; psychology or religious

Description: Scholarship open to college/university students and high school seniors who are pursuing a degree in Environmental Studies, Ecology, Land Use, Earth & Atmosphere Sciences, Sustainable Land Management, Environmental Biology, or Sustainable Agriculture Systems. The application will include an essay about the recreational use of public lands.

Panda Cares First-Year Scholars Program

GPA Requirement: 3.0
Description: The Panda Cares First-Year Scholars Program is a one-time postsecondary scholarship and college success program for graduating high school seniors entering their first year of college. Eligible applicants must possess a demonstrated financial need as verified by the student’s college or university; be a citizen, national, or legal permanent resident of the US; and plan to be enrolled as a full-time freshman in fall 2022, attending a U.S. four-year, accredited college or university.

Are you planning to attend The Catholic University of America, Trinity Washington University, or the University of the District of Columbia? If so, be sure to check out the DC Futures Program. The program aims to help DC college students complete their first associate or bachelor’s degree by providing a last-dollar scholarship (tuition, fees, and cost of attendance). Students also receive college and career coaching and access to an emergency fund!
