Letter From Diana


Entering the Season of Fall 

It is time to witness the season of change and amazing, vibrant colors! Each year as the season of fall approaches, I sense a tremendous amount of shifting and changing in those I work with and this week has surely revealed that beginning already. The classes at the studio are packed… waitlists and many begging for more times and workshops. It’s time to “settle and cool down” into our fall pattern and to care for ourselves after such a busy summer. I could not be more happy to see all coming back in all together and it is inspiring and such a blessing. 

Here are some things to consider as you schedule your self-care: 

  1. Pace yourself. Be sure to see yourself up with an exercise and nutrition plan that is sustainable. Many times, in such seasons, folks get so eager and motivated but go too far too fast. Set a pace that you can sustain and easily adjust if things come up unexpectedly so that you can adjust but not stop. 
  2. Remember that body composition and wellness is not just diet and exercise… and with those 2 things in consideration the formula for balance in the body is 80% diet and 20% exercise. We also need to have adequate, balanced sleep, stress management techniques, balanced and organized supplements, and a way to hold or be held accountable. 
  3. Take time to look at all objectively. If you do not work with a health coach yet, I highly recommend it. If you truly desire change, and object view is a must. We tend to get emotionally attached to things that no longer serve us: foods, activities, relationships, daily routines, and much more. The US medical board now has a verification which is my NBC-HWC credential and they fully see the large gap in wellness care to truly bring about changes that become lifestyle. 
  4. Book time for the things that bring you joy as often as possible. Joy brings a perspective that allows for all to look much more doable, sustainable, and exciting. Joy adjusts our frequency so high that “work” doesn’t feel like a burden. 

Let’s take this time to get ourselves ready for a fall and winter that leaves us energized, calm, peaceful, and thriving! I can’t wait to see you all at the studio or on Zoom. The staff at essence is always ready to help and support you all reach your wellness goals.

Silent retreats provide space for participants to experience the powerful impact of having an extended time and space to restore. Past participants are so amazed at the power of this retreat and many have attended more than one! The foods are wholesome and delicious (vegan/gluten-free), the grounds are stunning and so calming, and the guided meditations and practices will restore and relax you. Diana shares many techniques for finding balance, and her private energy sessions are powerful for those that choose to add them on.

How to walk and travel with no pain! 

Have you ever wondered if there was a way to walk “healthy” and “unhealthy”? Do your back, knees, feet, or even neck hurt when you try to walk for exercise? Do you worry about how to travel without your body hurting? Diana is going to break down all there is to know about having a healthy gait, how to develop a healthy gait, what to do when traveling, and how to care for our bodies to keep a healthy alignment. If the weather allows, Diana will take this group outside for the 2nd 1/2 of the workshop and put into practice all that is learned in the first 1/2.

Come learn all that goes into our gait and how to keep yourself going for many walks or trips without pain! Diana will show yoga poses and other tools to help keep you moving... pain-free!

CECs / YTT Workshop Hours

These workshops are open to anyone. Diana can offer CEC’s for both Y.A. (Yoga Alliance) and A.C.E. (The American Council on Exercise). CEC's for other organizations can be petitioned for these workshops.


They are also workshop hours for the ‘essence of Yoga’ 200hr teacher training school, and offered to those in the ‘essence of yoga’ 300hr as part of their training.

Join Us Online for Great Classes on Zoom!
Important Zoom Class Reminders: 

  • For those participating via zoom, you must be visible on camera. We can not allow participants coming on with us without a camera option going forward for safety reasons.
  • Be signed up at least 2 hours before the class begins
  • Zoom link will be sent about 1 hour before class begins to your email 
  • Be signed in 15 minutes before class 
  • Ask all in your home to be off the internet for best reception for Zoom classes 
  • You will be on mute during Zoom classes and can send a chat message to the instructor if needed. 
  • For yoga classes, please leave savasana at the beginning or stay on the entire time to avoid being disruptive to the class.

Due to space and safety concerns, we cannot have extra belongings in the rooms while classes are going on. Although we take pride in our amazing community and studio, Essence is not responsible for lost or stolen items, and we are hoping to help you prevent any issues while also keeping the studio safe and spacious for everyone.

In order to make the space comfortable for everyone, please refrain from wearing colognes or perfumes to class.
