CCHCP in the Community

We Had an Amazing Time at NCIHC's Language Access Congress 2026!

The Cross Cultural Health Care Program team just returned from exhibiting at the NCIHC Conference in Providence, RI at the Cambridge Innovation Center. This year's theme was “The Symphony of Synergy: Speak Clearly, Lead Boldly, Define the Action”—and we are still buzzing from all the incredible connections! It was a privilege to catch up with peers and showcase our brand-new 2026 edition of the 40-Hour Bridging the Gap Medical Interpreter Training Curriculum for licensed trainers and direct learning participants. Between the inspiring sessions and wonderful booth conversations, we returned energized to keep advancing health equity alongside you. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello—we look forward to turning those wonderful conversations into lasting partnerships!

We also want to extend a special congratulations to Cynthia Roat, MPH, on receiving the prestigious 2026 NCIHC Language Access Champion Award! We are incredibly proud to celebrate her well-deserved recognition in being a pioneer in advancing language access and honoring her past contributions to CCHCP. We also want to celebrate Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization (EOCCO) for taking home the institutional honors.

It was a privilege connecting face-to-face with the Pacific Northwest's language professional community in Lynwood, WA at the Lynwood Event Center. We were absolutely thrilled by the tremendous amount of interest in our medical glossaries in 29 languages! Seeing so many medical interpreters and translators eager to utilize these resources in their daily work truly underscores the shared mission to advance health equity and language justice in healthcare. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth—we look forward to collaborating with you!
