ASK THE COUNTY COLUMN
State of the County Address

We will be providing answers to the questions that didn't get answered at the State of the County Address due to time constraints. Look for our new newsletter feature ASK THE COUNTY on questions for county officials about Botetourt County.

What plans does the County have to stimulate business in Botetourt County and to help support business that is suffering after the economic suppression of years past?

Could you discuss if Botetourt County will resume rec sports in the spring? If not, what is the plan to resume sports in future seasons? The high schools have resumed sports following all guidelines to reduce COVID exposure. The local churches and youth clubs in the areas have been able to successfully run the previous spring, fall, and winter seasons. I think we can use the high school and these local clubs as examples and let our kids get back on the fields with their local rec clubs.
February 8, 2021 (Botetourt County, VA): The Botetourt County Department of Parks & Recreation is pleased to announce that it has reached a conceptual agreement with the County’s volunteer Booster Clubs for the clubs to offer youth baseball and softball sports this spring with County support. Booster Club leaders and County staff are currently working out details of the plan. Select here to continue reading.

Visit the Parks & Recreation Facebook page to stay updated on the County sports' programs.
