Welcome to this month's edition of “Special Delivery”, the monthly newsletter from Miracle Babies! Each month, we share information about Miracle Babies' events, news, and, most importantly, our impact. We are proud of our work and it is important for us to share these accomplishments with supporters like you!

We welcome your feedback and suggestions:  admin@miraclebabies.org
Miracle Babies is expanding its transportation services by establishing a dedicated cardiac shuttle that offers transportation for babies with cardiac defects and their parents. This cardiac shuttle will facilitate timely and regular attendance to appointments for these young patients at Rady Children's Heart Institute department, ensuring the critical care and follow-up from health care professionals that are critical to these babies’ health and recovery.
On May 26 we held our annual Breakfast at Tiffany's luncheon benefitting the cardiac shuttle. Thank you to our sponsors, in-kind partners and attendees.
Our services in Los Angeles continue to grow! For the first time this past month we delivered care packages to UCLA!
Orange County Auxiliary Chapter delivered some amazing Mother's Day packages to families with babies in the hospital. These thoughtful goodies were packaged with love and care. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
Miracle Babies had this impact in May 2021:

  • The Miracle Babies Transportation Assistance Program logged 9,000 miles and provided 225 rides to parents with hospitalized babies.

  • Delivered 152 care packages to Southern California hospitals providing resources, care and comfort items to parents

  • Hosted 4 Virtual Miracle Hours connecting dozens of NICU parents to one another.

  • Distributed more than 43,000 diapers to 388 families

Thank You to These Sponsors!

Miracle Baby Chad
This amazing little one and a half year old was born on October 21, 2019 at 34 weeks. When Chad was born he was blue and struggling to breath. It wasn’t until day 4 of life that Miracle Mom, Kaleigh, was able to hold her baby boy for the first time. In total, Chad spent 32 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Kaleigh had some great advice for current and future NICU parents. She says, “Remember that days where baby makes no forward progress aren’t bad. My motto was I’d rather have a day of no progress over a day of regression.” We are so happy Chad is home with his family and thriving!
Dr. Mona Hacker and Valerie Robbins

This dynamic duo has supported Miracle Babies since its inception in 2009. Dr. Mona Hacker is a board-certified family practice physician with vast experience in clinical trials and has participated as a principal investigator and sub-investigator on over 100 clinical trials. Valerie Robbins is a local attorney and a Miracle Mom herself. Valerie's Miracle "Baby" was born six weeks premature and is now a thriving eleven-year-old. When she was in the NICU with her baby she saw how imperative the need was for a mother to be with her baby. This is when she felt a strong desire to get involved with Miracle Babies. Valerie went to law school with Miracle Babies co-founder, Marjan Danehsmand, so she was thrilled to have the opportunity to get involved.
