Welcome to this month's edition of “Special Delivery”, the monthly newsletter from Miracle Babies! Each month, we share information about Miracle Babies' events, news, and, most importantly, our impact. We are proud of our work and it is important for us to share these accomplishments with supporters like you!

We welcome your feedback and suggestions:  admin@miraclebabies.org
Miracle Babies had this impact in 2020:

  • Launched our Transportation Assistance Program in San Diego and Orange County

  • The Miracle Babies Shuttles provided 278 rides totaling more than 15,000 miles to NICU parents since our launch in June of 2020

  • Delivered 1,700 care packages to Southern California hospitals

  • Provided more than 50 LYFT rides to NICU families

  • Distributed more than $8,000 in gas cards to NICU families

  • Hosted 9 in-person Miracle Hours (pre-COVID-19) and 30 Virtual Miracle Hours connecting dozens of NICU parents to one another. Having a NICU baby can be isolating and overwhelming. Having a baby in the NICU during the COVID-19 pandemic adds a whole new set of stressors

  • Distributed more than 500,000 diapers to San Diego County families in need
We are extremely grateful to WaterWipes for their support. In addition to providing WaterWipes for all our NICU care packages. WaterWipes has sponsored our care package tote for the past two years and this past November sponsored a special purple bag for Prematurity Awareness Month. Additionally, WaterWipes co-sponsoring #12DaysofGiving. In December we randomly selected 12 nominated NICU providers to be treated with gifts, including a $100 Amazon gift card and Miracle Babies tote. Thank you! We are incredibly grateful for the partnership we have with WaterWipes!

The event webinar benefits MY BRAIN & MY BABY, a new program inspired by Dr. Eger to provide mental health services for any mom with a complicated pregnancy. As you can imagine, there is a great deal of stress with any pregnancy complication which can lead to increased risk for depression, anxiety, and PTSD.
Thank you to the following Facebook friends who “hosted” Facebook fundraisers in December to raise money for Miracle Babies: Marianela Camarillo, Heather Nicole, Roxanna M Clementi Ruiz, Erica Farmer, Sierra Dahling, Jamie Jablonsky Milton, and Tina Lynn -we appreciate you!
If you are interested in “hosting” your own Facebook fundraiser for Miracle Babies, go to the Fundraiser section of the Miracle Babies page and click on “Raise Money” or click below.
Miracle Baby Noah
Meet miracle baby Noah Aaron Jerome Rudd. Noah was born May 17, 2018 at UCI hospital in Orange County at 30 weeks and two days gestation, 3lbs 3oz, and 15 1/4inches long. He spent a total of 59 days in the NICU. He was delivered via C-section due to his mom having severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. He had a pneumothorax at five days old, was on oxygen with CPAP and nasal cannula. He was known as the little Houdini because he would always unswaddle himself. He still sleeps with one hand up to this day! Noah is a healthy 2 1/2 year old little boy now at 35lbs! He has had RSV and bronchiolitis a couple of times but this did not stop this energetic, happy, curious, adventurous, fun, and loving little miracle baby. Thank you to the Rudd family for sharing this update! We love seeing Noah grow!
Each month, “Special Delivery” will spotlight a “Miracle Worker” – someone who contributes to make Miracle Babies great!
Charlie and Monet
Meet two of our youngest miracle workers, Charlie and Monet, the fantastic duo were born at 33weeks in 2013. From Halloween to the winter holidays Charlie and Monet have been creating handmade cards and treat bags for our NICU families and parents at our community diaper distributions. Recipients have been extremely grateful to receive these unexpected treats made with love. Charlie and Monet are extraordinary children with a desire to give back to their community. Thank you Charlie and Monet for dedicating your time and talent to parents who need a little extra support during these uncertain times.
