Sharing in the Momentum
As April wraps up, I’m excited to share the incredible momentum we’re building as we head into our busiest season of the year. This month has been filled with activity — and progress!
We have been hard at work finalizing event plans, including securing vendors, entertainment, and logistics for Water Ski Days and Tour de Pepin. We’re thrilled to announce that over 500 cyclists have already registered for Tour de Pepin! It’s shaping up to be one of our biggest rides yet.

100 Mile Garage Sale
May 1 thru 4, All Day
(All along the Great River Road)
Lake City is the right in the epicenter of this event which invites fifteen historic river towns and two states clean out their attics, garages and basements to create the most spectacular garage sale around!
Bargain hunters can start anywhere along the river road – Minnesota or Wisconsin – rain or shine. Hundreds of individuals and businesses participate with their own garage sales, often whole neighborhoods.

Book Sale!

The Friends of the Lake City Public Library's next sale is right around the corner during the 100 Mile Garage Sale weekend, so slow down and stop in!
They have a HUGE selection of books and have several "sale specials"! An especially large collection of Clive Cussler and Danielle Steele books will be offered, all in excellent condition. The sale begins at 9:00 am each day.

Water Ski Days to Add Exciting New Water Ski Programming and 1st Annual Ralph Samuelson Freestyle Jump Competition

We are excited to announce that this year's Water Ski Days (June 26-29, 2025) will include a whole host of favorite and brand new water ski events, including a new "Thrill Show" event on Friday, featuring members of the Tommy Bartlett show in Wisconsin Dells honoring the legacy of Ralph Samuelson, and the inaugural "Ralph Samuelson Freestyle Jump Competition" on Saturday, featuring national competitors in three different divisions!
Returning will be ski team shows on Saturday and Sunday as well as Friday's popular Get on the Water clinic from our friends at the USA Water Ski and Wake Sports Foundation.
These events are presented through the generous sponsorship of Treasure Island Resort and Casino, and produced by our good friends at Legacy Skis.
This year's Water Ski Days is poised to be the best one yet! A full schedule including event times is forthcoming.

Multi-Platinum Country Act Matt Stell Headlines a Water Ski Days Music Line-Up Filled with Incredible Entertainment

We are thrilled to bring country superstar Matt Stell to Water Ski Days on Saturday, June 28, 2025. Matt has quickly made his mark on Country music as one of only eight new artists in the past six years to have consecutive #1s with two back-to-back chart-toppers: 2X platinum “Prayed For You” and platinum “Everywhere But On.” Stacking huge industry awards with high-profile TV on Good Morning America, The Kelly Clarkson Show, Bachelor in Paradise, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #LateShowMeMusic digital series, he’s also performed the national anthem for major NASCAR and NFL events. Aaron Simmons and Bryan Anderson open.
Also joining the Water Ski Days line-up are Rhino with opening act Strange Daze, The Johnny Holm Band with Foster Grand, and a free Thursday show with The Local Hooligans after the Lake Hits 95 Karaoke Finals!

Minnesota Paid Leave Informational Event
Paid Leave is coming to Minnesota. Is your business ready? Starting Jan. 1, 2026, Minnesota Paid Leave will provide payments and job protections to Minnesotans when they need time off for some of life’s most important moments – like welcoming a child, recovering from a serious illness, or caring for a loved one.
To help you prepare, Minnesota Paid Leave staff are partnering with the Red Wing and Lake City Chambers for an in-person engagement session for employers. At these sessions, we will provide an overview of the program, share recent updates, answer your questions, and help you get ready to meet your responsibilities under Paid Leave. Light refreshments available.

Partner with Knight Barry at the Water Ski Days Volunteer Appreciation Party
Knight Barry Title Group sponsors the always fun Water Ski Days volunteer appreciation party on Thursday, June 26th, 2025 at Ohuta Park. Their local office generously offers a brief orientation, delicious burgers and dogs, t-shirts, and a swag bag for all the folks who give their time to make our big summer festival a success.
Here's where you come in! They are looking for anything fun you'd wish to contribute to the volunteer goodie bag. This can include anything from coupons to local businesses to key chains to water bottles to hats, etc. Donate anything you'd like to show the volunteers you support them while advertising your local business.

We couldn't be more excited for this year's Tour de Pepin on Saturday June 7th, 2025!
This year's tour features two shuttle boats, all the great routes and rest stops you've become accustomed to, the always epic after-ride party, and a new Century Ride through the beautiful Weaver Dunes area south of Kellogg. We had so much fun at the Girls Day Out: Mrs. Roper Romp last weekend.
These gals really know how to have a good time, and we applaud the efforts of the Shops of Lake City group, working together to make awesome events happen, and embodying the true spirit of collaboration and cooperation. They make Lake City stand out amongst our peer communities.
