FINAL DATE for turning in 2023-24 educational hours will be August 31, 2023. The 2023-24 contracts cannot be adjusted after that date. If you are working towards a Masters Degree, be sure to have your signed Program of Study from your college/university on file.  For classes past a Masters Degree, a Masters Plus form must be approved and on file prior to taking the class.  The Masters Plus form can be found on Frontline Central under My Forms then Forms I Can Start. Search for Masters Plus, then complete and submit the form.  Only official transcripts will be accepted for verification of classes taken for salary schedule credit.

The Back to School Bash was created to provide our Nixa families with a little extra support before they start school. The event will supply each student with a backpack, hygiene supplies, basic school supplies (based on the student's grade level), clothes, a new pair of shoes, and additional resources.

This annual event is made possible with the support of Nixa community organizations and businesses.

The annual event will take place on Saturday, August 5.

We need hundreds of volunteers to make this event happen!

How to Volunteer at the Bash

We supply Nixa students and their families with comfort and piece-of-mind when it comes to back to school. This cannot happen without the time, energy, and dedication of our volunteer teams.

Our volunteers for the Back to School Bash are the life of the event. They ensure our attendees are supportive and find all the necessary items to start their new school year. If you are interested in volunteering, please use one of the links to sign up below.

End of Year Deadlines:

• April 15 - This is the last day to submit purchase orders using a BUDGET expense.
• May 5 - All invoices/check requests for current year purchases must be submitted to the Business Office to ensure payment from this fiscal year.
• May 15 - This is the last day to use District AP Cards & Corporate Ordering (Amazon, School Specialty, Office Depot, etc.) This ensures the transaction will be on the May statement, therefore will be paid this fiscal year.
• May 31 - Last day to submit end of year transfers, to ensure they are entered into the system prior to closing the year.

As we get back to school, please remember the following things to keep our schools safe:

1. Doors should not be propped open in any way (exterior, classroom, or fire doors).
2. No props should EVER be used to hold a door open. Classroom doors need to be able to shut quickly, and exterior doors should never propped open with any item.
3. No staff member should give their fob to a student or another person to use.  
4. No materials should be put in or over the locks and strike plate (the hole the lock goes into) on classroom or exterior doors. This causes permanent damage to the locks.
5. If you notice an exterior door is not locking when it shuts, please immediately notify your front office so it can be fixed.
6. When you leave for the day, your classroom door should be locked and shut.
7. If you leave later in the evening and see lights on or areas of the building that are not secured and should be, please contact your building administrator.
8. While we understand that everyone is trying to be nice, please make sure that anyone who is not a staff member goes through the front entrance and is checked into the building. We do not always know the personal lives of our staff members, so not everyone who is related to someone should be let into a building.

Do you use a URL shortener like bit.ly or tinyurl? Due to SPAM rules, we need anyone who uses a URL shortener for Nixa Schools to be on our URL shortener account. It's quick and easy to use.

The purpose of a URL shortener is to take a long web address and shorten it when you put a link in a document or on social media. This also allows you to track clicks on a link to see how well people are engaging.

If you are taking students off a school campus for ANY reason, then you MUST have the district approved permission slip unless you are going from one school campus to another Nixa school campus using school transportation (bus or van). If you are walking from one school to another, you must have a permission slip. If you have any questions, email  zacrantz@nixaschools.net .

Permission slips should be set up on SchoolPay using the No Pay Item and the template for permission slips.  Your office manager has a Google Doc to use if a student needs a paper copy to sign.
