Sunday Beer Co. Joins The Gasko + Meyer Family
They makers of Sunday Beer Co . make a beer for themselves and their friends that could be at home in our backyards and your backpacks. They wanted to give people a new option for a light-lager that didn’t take itself too seriously, but didn’t skimp on quality ingredients, process or taste.

We asked the makers of Sunday Beer Five Question s to get to the heart of the brand and to help you get to know them better.
Five Questions For Sunday Beer:
Who is Sunday Beer Co.?

Sunday Beer was founded by three buddies: Drew Bombard, Sean Poole and Eric Schulz. Drew is a co-founder and responsible for all things liquid and is the reason why Sunday tastes so great. He has worked for some of the biggest names in craft over the last 10 years (New Belgium and Brooklyn Brewery) and is an actual microbiologist. He might be the most devoted surfer we know and can nerd out on beer with the best of them, but he still loves easy-drinking lagers. Eat your heart out single-celled microorganisms! Eric is also a co-founder and responsible for all the brand and business stuff. He is a recovering investment banker and his love for craft beer began in college when he first discovered AleSmith’s XIPA, which quickly lead to a short but wildly successful home brewing stint. You can find him most weekends up in the Catskills or out at the beach with his wife and mini aussiedoodle, Chief. Sean is a co-founder and responsible for NYC Sales. He is a light beer connoisseur and his background is in project management for an international NGO. He was also part of a wildly successful homebrewing stint in college after drinking Stone Arrogant Bastard for the first time but nowadays you can find him on a run in NYC, wearing Lycra on the Palisades Parkway or going on an adventure with his wife and their Regal Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lulu.

When did Sunday Beer Co. start and why did you name it Sunday Beer?

Sunday Beer was dreamt up in 2016 and officially launched in 2017. We named it Sunday Beer because of what that actual day connotes to us - it’s our day for community/family - for getting one last little adventure in before the work week starts up again - a day for relaxation and maybe a little bit of self-care - it seemed like a very fitting mood for a light beer. We’re definitely not out here drinking 10% IPAs on a Sunday - too old for that life :)

Can you tell us why you focused on this one kind of beer?

We focused on a craft light lager because that is what we wanted to drink and we just didn’t see it in the market at all. If you wanted something with a similar profile - it was either a macro domestic or an import - neither of which fully resonated with us from a brand connection standpoint - not to mention some of the shortcuts those guys take on ingredients. We are also pretty active guys and looking for lower ABV options - when you finish a surf or a hike, something crisp and refreshing is what we are almost always looking to reach for.

You give 1% of your proceeds to planet initiatives - would love to get your thoughts on that and on anything else altruistic that you guys do?

We grew up running around outdoors and obsessed with brands like Patagonia that basically set the tone for the idea that business can also be a force for good. As people whose lives and product are pretty tied to the outdoors and natural resources - it just felt appropriate to give back in some way. 1% for the planet is really cool because although it is a national organization - we choose local environmental non-profits to partner with each year - our most recent one being Catskill Mountain Keeper.

One last thing - Your branding is tight, its brilliant! Are you guys behind it or did you have agency help?

Why thank you - we’re very proud of the brand we’ve built. We partnered with a small studio out of Brooklyn called The Young Jerks, aka Dan Cassaro and Dan Christofferson, aka The Dans - to bring it to life visually.
