MATTHEW 7:13-14 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
When we come to the kingdom of God, the Lord guides us through His word; it is our choice to follow it. So it is our choice if we want to be guided by Him. If we choose to follow His path, this path is narrow. We have no room to do what we want. If we decide to do what we want, that path will lead us to destruction.
These words came from the mouth of Jesus to let us know the path He has chosen for us. There will be some who will choose to walk down their own paths, which will lead them to destruction. The Lord warns us, and we choose.
If we listen to His words and obey them, we are like a wise man who builds his house on the rock; this will lead us to the life Jesus promises! Matthew 7:24
There is still time for those who have strayed from the narrow path. When we do what we want, we stray from the path the Lord has chosen for us.
Some have strayed because of what they have heard or been told. Others have strayed when difficulties arise. They have heard that everything will go well when they are serving the Lord- that they will not have difficulties when they are walking with Him. But that is not what the Lord said. The Lord said that “ In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
This is why the Lord warns us in advance so that we do not stray when there is any difficulty in serving Him. Others have strayed from the path because the message of prosperity has been presented to them in the wrong way, and their focus on material things leads them astray. Don't let anything deviate you!
When we set our sight on heavenly things, it is very difficult to be deceived, and nothing will deviate us or take us off the narrow path.
Set your minds on things above, not on things on earth. There are many distractions in this world. Colossians 3:2
This is why our intimacy with the Lord and our establishment in the truth of His word is important. Don't look to the left or to the right, set your eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
Be strong, for you still have the opportunity to enter through the narrow gate; today is your day to walk through it. Choose the good path of the Lord! His ways are perfect. He came so that we may have life, and have it abundantly. John 10:10
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him. 31 For who is God, except the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God? 32 It is God who arms me with strength, And makes my way perfect. 33 He makes my feet like the feet of deer, And sets me on my high places. Psalm 18:30-33
