PowerCalc Wins Product of The Year

PowerCalc's  Incredible 1 Line Diagram won the Silver Award from the 15th annual Consulting-Specifying Engineer  Product of the Year award.

Up against companies like Lutron, Schneider, Eaton, and others, PowerCalc showed that software could be easy to use and work.

This is the second time PoweCalc, a Venture Class 3 company, has achieved this feat. In 2016, they won an award for product of the year for being the first in the cloud.
Child Rescue Coalition featured in NBC

Child Rescue Coalition Founder and CEO, Carly Yoost, was invited to participate in the show "Monday Momday" on NBCMiami to provide helpful tips to parents on Internet safety and to encourage parents to be aware of acronyms that teenagers could be using.

The Child Rescue Coalition is a Venture Class 3 company.
PQSecure Technologies Awarded NSF SBIR Phase II Grant

PQSecure Technologies, a Venture Class 5 company, was awarded the NSF SBIR Phase II Award of more than $748,000. They received this grant after spending two years working on the commercialization of post-quantum cryptography in resource-constrained devices.

The company expects to be product-ready by the end of the award, which coincides with the ongoing NIST Post-Quantum Standardization Process. The current goal is to elicit the attention of angel investors and VCs to begin ramping up our marketing and sales efforts while making the market aware of this impending threat.
Palm Beach Tech Hackathon

The Hackathon is a 24-hour event where participants form teams, create projects based on a theme and present their work to an expert panel of judges. This year's themes are Smart Cities and Hurricane Relief.

Teams will consist of engineers, entrepreneurs, designers and developers with an array of areas of expertise. They will compete for a chance to win cash and in-kind prizes.

Starting at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, teams will be formed, and hacking will officially start at 8 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5. Presentations and the award ceremony will take begin at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.

StartingPoint

TechLauderdale is hosting StartingPoint, a fun and free event for start-ups and entrepreneurs.

The meetup will include a peer-to-peer Pitch Competition called "Pointless Pitchfest," where five startup founders are chosen at random to get five minutes to pitch their companies with no supplemental material. The audience, composed of fellow founders, potential customers and backers, offers feedback to the presenter.

The free event is 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Broward County Library in Fort Lauderdale.
