We Are the Lord's
This past Sunday the Reverend Canon Lee Ann Tolzmann preached a beautiful sermon about the overwhelming power of God’s love, a force that reaches over every boundary and blockade in its path. Mother Lee Ann+, Priest Affiliate of Saint Andrew’s, helped to break open anew the verses from Paul’s letter to the Romans that are read at many Burial Offices in the church each year:
“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers,
nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor
depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from
the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:39)
Or as Mother Lee Ann+ reminded us: neither fear nor failure, neither violence nor despair, can stand against the steady work of God and God’s kingdom in our midst. But it does not stop there!
This past week, Saint Andrew’s mourned the loss of a beloved, long-time member, Mary Stahl, and only a few days later celebrated the gift of new life in the birth of a child (Cameron Fore) to parishioner Cynthia Fore. Sending these pastoral notices to the parish, I was reminded of a latter portion of Paul’s letter to Christians in Rome:
“If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.” (Romans 14:8)
I wonder this week how you might welcome the steady work of God’s abundant and tenacious kingdom in your life and in your heart. You and I belong to God, and ultimately our work of a lifetime is to more fully root ourselves in that reality each day.

Summer Family Social | This Sunday, August 2 | 4-6 PM | Parish Hall

Clergy Schedule
Mtr. Lee Ann Tolzmann will be preaching and celebrating at our Wednesday Healing masses on August 5 and August 12 at 5:30 p.m. Mtr. Lee Ann+ will also be preaching in both masses next Sunday, August 9. We are grateful to Mtr. Lee Ann for her continued leadership in our worship life!

Practicing Prayer and Pilgrimage: Walking the Labyrinth | Saturday, August 8
Interested in learning about the spiritual practice of walking a labyrinth? Join us Saturday August 8 at 9:30 AM at the Labyrinth by Daniel Chapel on Furman University Campus (3300 Poinsett Highway, Greenville, SC 29613). We will gather for a brief introduction to this prayer practice, and then we will walk the labyrinth together. Email Mother Molly+ if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!

Save the Date! Blessing of the Backpacks | Sunday, August 9 | Both Masses
Many of our local schools start back on Tuesday, August 11! Students and teachers are encouraged to bring their backpacks to church on Sunday, August 9, so that the students, teachers, and their backpacks can be blessed for the upcoming school year. The blessing will take place in both masses.

Choir Rehearsal Update
Now through Labor Day, Sunday morning choir rehearsals will take place at 9:30 AM in the Parish Hall with the piano. Starting September 13, we will begin rehearsal at 9:00 AM in the Parish Hall before moving to the sanctuary at 9:30 AM for the remaining time. Please make a note of this change.
Additionally, please let Leslie Boyette know if you have a preference on a mid-week rehearsal day. This would begin the week of September 13. Due to other activities going on in the Parish Hall on Wednesday evenings this fall, it may be best to rehearse on another day. If you have a preference, please email Leslie.

As a result, please enter the parking lot via South Main Street. The map linked below has been updated to reflect that change.***

| Sunday Altar Flower and Presence Candle Dedications | |
On Sundays, we have the opportunity to offer a special dedication of the altar flowers or presence candle in honor, memory, or celebration of loved ones. The cost to the church for altar flowers is now $100 per Sunday, so we are suggesting that donations for dedicating altar flowers be in the range of $50 to $100 to help us cover those costs. The suggested donation for a presence candle dedication is $10.
If you would like to sign up for a Sunday, please see the sign up sheet on the bulletin in the Parish Hall or click on the button below. You may place a check in the offering plate with "Altar Flowers" or "Presence Candle" noted in the memo.
We will continue to only have Altar Flowers if someone has signed up and paid for the arrangements. As a result, we will need to know by the Tuesday prior to the upcoming Sunday if you would like to sign up.

Volunteers Needed
Feed Thy Neighbor
Founded in 2010, Feed Thy Neighbor is a cooperative effort of the Episcopal community in Greenville. Parish volunteers from Saint Andrew’s, St. Peter’s, St. James, and Christ Church feed the hungry each Saturday from 7:30 to 8:30 AM. We are seeking volunteers to help serve and clean up.
