Called to Worship. Sent to Witness. Led to Welcome. | | From Saint Andrew's GOAL Justice Leadership | |
An Invitation to Share Community Concerns
Dear Fellow Saint Andrew's Parishioners,
GOAL Justice, an interfaith coalition of 29 congregations in the Greenville area, continues to be one of Saint Andrew’s outreach initiatives. GOAL stands for Greenville Organized for Accountable Leadership. We support it through actively being involved with its mission, which is to address every-day hardships impacting our neighbors. These are people who face extraordinary difficulties in daily living and do not have a voice of their own or the time to speak up. Familiar issues include access to mental health services, affordable housing, and transportation. GOAL has been successful in past campaigns in bringing these issues to the attention of our city and county leadership who in turn have agreed to - and are - addressing them.
As good neighbors, parish members, and good citizens, please take a moment to consider what issues GOAL should work on this year, and please share them with me via email. Please do not worry about length or formality, simply send your thoughts on the 1-2 key issues you believe GOAL should address for 2025-2026. For your information, last year the focus was on transportation and homelessness.
With gratitude,
Anne Kaiser
Saint Andrew's Team Leader, GOAL Justice

2026 Annual Pledge Campaign
Last week, we kicked off our 6-week Annual Pledge Campaign, when we ask members of the parish to prayerfully discern and complete a financial pledge card for 2026. Through our pledges, we are able to express our common commitment to support God’s continuing ministry at Saint Andrew’s—and to help the parish to plan financially for the coming year. Our 2026 campaign will conclude at our Annual Parish Meeting on Sunday, November 16.
This year’s Annual Pledge Committee includes: Riley Owens (chair); Rusty Infinger (last year’s chair); Anne Marie Currier; Mike Delello; Linda Fitzsimmons; Kay Friddle; Amy Gower; and Patty Slay. We look forward to this opportunity to share our gifts in ministry together.
Please submit your pledges (by mail, the offering plate, or online) by Sunday, November 16, and help us reach our goal of 125 pledges and $370,000 in dollars pledged. Thank you to all who have already submitted their pledges!

Nominations for Vestry & Diocesan Delegate
As we prepare for our Parish Annual Meeting on Sunday, November 16, please prayerfully consider who might offer leadership in the following positions:
- 3 Vestry positions for full 3 year terms; and
- 1 Diocesan Convention Delegate for 4 year term;
Our outgoing vestry members, Phil Buck, Lee Gray, and Jenny Peer, constitute the Nominating Committee – so please advise them of any suggestions.
Qualifications for Vestry: Under our parish by-laws, to be considered for the Vestry, an individual must be a confirmed adult (18 years or older) member of the congregation and make a financial pledge for the next calendar year. Also, an outgoing vestry member who has served a full (three-year) term is not eligible for one year following the completion of that term, and only one member of a household may serve at any given time.
Qualifications for Convention Delegate: Under our parish by-laws, to be considered for Diocesan Convention Delegate, an individual must be a confirmed adult member of the congregation. In addition, an outgoing delegate who has served a full (four-year) term is not eligible to serve as delegate for one year following the completion of that term.

UPDATED: Parking at Saint Andrew's
For detailed parking instructions, click here.
***PLEASE NOTE - West End Baptist Church, which owns the parking lot around Saint Andrew's, has reduced the parking lot area available on Sundays to the area closer to South Main Street--with the back part of the parking lot (against Rhett Street) no longer available. As a result, please enter the parking lot via South Main Street. The map linked below has been updated to reflect that change.***
|
Note: You need a parking decal to park in the designated lots. They can be found on the shelf to the left of the doors as you exit the church.
| Sunday Altar Flower and Presence Candle Dedications |
On Sundays, we have the opportunity to offer a special dedication of the altar flowers or presence candle in honor, memory, or celebration of loved ones. The cost to the church for altar flowers is now $100 per Sunday, so we are suggesting that donations for dedicating altar flowers be in the range of $50 to $100 to help us cover those costs. The suggested donation for a presence candle dedication is $10.
If you would like to sign up for a Sunday, please see the sign up sheet on the bulletin in the Parish Hall or click on the button below. You may place a check in the offering plate with "Altar Flowers" or "Presence Candle" noted in the memo.
We will continue to only have Altar Flowers if someone has signed up and paid for the arrangements. As a result, we will need to know by the Tuesday prior to the upcoming Sunday if you would like to sign up.

Choir | Rehearsal on Sundays at 9:30 AM
We are always seeking additional volunteers for the Saint Andrew’s choir, which currently gathers on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM (and not on Wednesday evenings) to prepare the music for the 10:30 mass. This more limited time commitment provides an excellent opportunity for prospective new members to “try us out.” If you have questions, contact the Parish Office—or just show up on Sunday morning!
