Fall classes under way

Michael Jordan (standing), vice president of student services at Edgecombe Community College, discusses the syllabus with students in his General Psychology class. Fall classes at ECC began Thursday, August 22. New programs at the College include advanced I-CAR certifications in Collision Repair and Refinishing Technology and a drone certificate in the Geospatial Technology program. Classes for the drone certificate begin in October.
Nursing honor society established at ECC

ECC nursing students have a new opportunity to be recognized for academic achievement. The College recently received a charter for a chapter of the Associate Degree Nursing Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society. Alpha Delta Nu is the only national nursing honor society for Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) students. Induction into the honor society will benefit ECC students by strengthening their opportunities for job placement and scholarships.

A genealogy class on Census Records meets tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Norfleet House on the Tarboro campus. Fee $25. See more upcoming weekend genealogy courses.
 
Free back-to-school cuts for kids Saturday

Free cuts for kids

Barbering Club and Cosmetic Arts will provide free back-to-school cuts for kids on Saturday. Barbering will give cuts on the Rocky Mount campus from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cosmetic Arts will give cuts on the Tarboro campus from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
