"Pi" 𝜫 Eating Contest

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (Greek letter “π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159. Pi Day is an annual opportunity for math enthusiasts to recite the infinite digits of Pi, talk to their friends about math, and eat pie.

Last Tuesday, March 14th, we celebrated Pi Day! Thank you to our Math Club members and advisors for planning a wonderful day filled with Pi activities! They held a Pi Eating Contest!

Congratulations to our Pi Bee winners!
  • 1st Place: Farah in 4th grade with memorizing 156 digits of Pi!!!
  • 2nd Place: Carter in 6th grade with 147 digits!
  • 3rd Place: Will in 8th grade with 135 digits!

For our Pie Eating contest, Joul in 2nd, Tia in 3rd, and Sthaly in 8th all won a dress-down day for their classmates. Right after the activities, all students were treated to a personal cheese pizza from Cici’s.

Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from Monday, March 20th- Friday, March 24th in Multi-purpose Room at school.

Remember that you can use an eWallet again this year—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Principal's Message
Dear Parents,

It was a great St. Patrick’s Day at BSS! It began with a prayer service and all the students played Bingo. Thank you, Mrs. McNamara, for coming and reading to our Little Knights-4th grade students!

Mrs. Gomez
From the Office of Admissions
Dear Parents,

The admissions office is in the process of preparing to send out re-enrollment contracts for the following school year to our returning students/families. We are proud to announce that there will be no increase in tuition rates for the 2023-2024 school year! Please, review a letter from Mrs. Gomez by CLICKING HERE. You can review our enrollment timeline by CLICKING HERE.

Enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year for returning families will begin on January 23, 2022. All existing families who have not requested financial aid in the past will start to receive an enrollment contract via DocuSign. Space is very limited for rising K, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th graders, and priority will be given to all returning families. Please do not delay in signing a contract once you receive it to secure a spot for your child. After signing, the system will ask you to pay the $265.00 enrollment fee. Review the letter above for deadlines. You will receive an email from FACTS once Mr. Rico sets up your automatic tuition payment drafts if you choose to pay via this option.

If a family would like to add a new student/sibling, please let Mr. Rico know so he can adjust your contract accordingly. Remember, we will need the following documents for all new students:
  • Copy of the student's birth certificate
  • Copy of the student's immunization records
  • If the family is Catholic, a copy of the student's certificate of baptism.

Contracts for families requesting financial aid will be sent after their applications for aid have been processed and a scholarship amount is known. This will be communicated around March 31.

If you have any questions about this process, you can contact Mr. Rico.

El espacio es muy limitado para los estudiantes de Kinder, 1.°, 3.°, 4.°, 5.° 6.° y 7.°grado y se dará prioridad a todas las familias que regresan.
