Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,
As we approach the sacred observance of Holy Week and the joyous celebration of Easter, I want to take a moment to reflect on the profound significance of this time in our Catholic faith and the importance of coming together as a school and as families to embrace its meaning.
Holy Week is a journey through the final days of Jesus’ earthly life, culminating in His resurrection on Easter Sunday. It is a time for prayer, reflection, and renewal. Each day of Holy Week—Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday—invites us to walk alongside Jesus, to witness His love, sacrifice, and ultimate victory over sin and death. We have done this as a school this week. Students recited Las Estaciones de la Cruz in Spanish class. Stations are posted in the hallway for students to see on the way to/from the Fellowship Hall. Religion lessons have focused on Jesus’ journey to Calvary. And our entire Holy Thursday centers on the Passion and the anticipation of Easter this Sunday.
Easter is not just a day of celebration; it is the culmination of our Lenten journey and a reminder of the hope and joy that faith in Christ brings into our lives. It is a time to rejoice in the promise of new life and the transformative power of God's love. As we gather with our families to celebrate this resurrection, let us remember to express our gratitude for the blessings we have and the love we share.
I wish you and your families a blessed Holy Week and a joyful Easter filled with peace, hope, and the love of our risen Lord. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Catholic education -- to a mission and a faith that embraces forgiveness, mercy and grace --- and for nurturing the faith of your children. How excited we will all be to continue to celebrate Easter when we all come together again on Wednesday!
Only by His Grace,
Veronica Tucker
Principal
