Dear Parents of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

As we wrap up this second week of our academic year, I want to share a couple of things I keep reminding myself of…. Firstly, we are making history right now. One of my second-grade sons, Davidson, often says, “Mom, I’m going to tell my grandchildren that I had to wear a mask to school and get my temperature taken when I ate lunch.” While I don’t like to think about how old I will be when he has grandchildren 😊, I know he’s right. We will be sharing stories for generations to come. Another item I remind myself of is that this is a “blip”. In the entire course of our lives, we will look back and remember the “blip”. However, while in the midst of it, things are not easy. Dismissal might take a little longer. Live-streams are not always clear. Campus events we enjoy are now virtual which don’t allow the connections we love about our school. Some annual events have been canceled. We miss having our parents in our building. We miss joining as a school family to celebrate the Mass. We miss the hugs and high-fives. But, let us remember this is only a “blip”. Our God is good and will see us through this and we will be stronger for it.

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker
