Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,
On Monday, we had our first annual 8th grade retreat. With a focus on John 15, our 8th graders were reminded that Jesus is the vine; we are the branches. In John 15:16-17, Jesus commands us to âgo and bear fruit andâŠlove one another.â As the leaders of our school, our 8th graders are challenged to be examples of compassion, service and love to each other and all Dolphins on our campus. The Class of 2026 is a very special class and they are up for the challenge!
This past Wednesday, we celebrated the Memorial of St. Monica. As a Mom, I turn to St. Monica often. When I think of St. Monica, I think of a power prayer warrior mother. Her son, who eventually became St. Augustine, had strayed so very far from the faith. After 17 years of incessant prayers, St. Augustine converted and became a Doctor of the Church. What an example to all parents of the power of prayer and persistence! đ
I hope you all enjoy a wonderful long weekend, and I also hope to see many of you at the Astros Game on Monday as our Mass and school choir join to sing the National Anthem before the first pitch. Go Astros!
Only by His Grace,
Veronica Tucker
Principal
