Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

It was great seeing so many of you at the Early Childhood/Elementary Parent Info Night last week and the Middle School Parent Info Night last night! One of my favorite events every year is watching our middle school parents walk their students’ schedules and see the challenges of getting from Mrs. Martin’s Religion classroom all the way to Mrs. Sturgeon’s Science classroom and then back to Mr. Wallace’s Social Studies class. Our students get a lot of steps in each day! 😊

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your understanding and flexibility with the challenges presented by our high temperatures and adjusting to our new fence protocols. It was wonderful to have our temps lower a little this week giving more time for outdoor recess and the chance for us to implement our new procedures with the security fence. All protocols for carline at the front of campus have remained the same. For those walking their students in each morning, that still takes place in the back of campus. All entrances to campus (front doors and back gate) will continue to open at 7:40AM when school staff are able to supervise.

In the afternoon, for those using personal pick-up, we are taking numbers at the fence and then allowing families in to pick up their Dolphins in the gym. Each day, our officer will ask families to leave campus when dismissal is over so that we can secure the campus for the evening and open the playground and fields to those enrolled in Beyond the Bell. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation and for a wonderful first three weeks!

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker

Principal

AROUND OUR PARISH & COMMUNITY

ODYSSEY OF THE MIND - 2024-2025

Odyssey of the Mind is focused on teaching creativity and teamwork to all children (all K-8 students eligible) through child-led solutions to open-ended problems. Children are coached to learn how to work as a team, and parents participate by teaching skills and helping children to schedule meetings and stay on task. Active meetings will begin in late September/early October, and this first year, we will do only an internal school solution presentation for families (teams that would like to compete regionally may do so and must register by December). Please contact Gloria Fawcett (gloria.fawcett@gmail.com) with questions.
