Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

During this second week of Advent, we had the joy of attending Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. I am so glad that this is a day we spend together as a school family. I love that our day opens learning about our Blessed Mother, followed by the celebration of the Mass, the Angelus at noon and activities throughout the day that remind us of the importance of the Queen of Heaven. At the 9:00am Mass, Father Kingsley delivered a passionate homily. Two main themes have been on my mind and heart since Tuesday morning. Father Kingsley opened saying, “Without Mary, there is no Christmas”. Throughout the homily, he untangled the need for Mary to have been predestined before she was in St. Anne’s womb, to be the Mother of God. At the close, he stated that, “With Mary, we have everything”. As someone who attended a Marianist high school and then the University of Notre Dame, much of my education and formation occurred under the shadow and protection of Our Mother. I pray that this Advent, and always, we remember and treasure the gift we have in the Queen of All Saints. May she continue to intercede for us and may we remember her journey to Bethlehem as we continue through this liturgical season.

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker
Principal
