Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

What a week! We kicked it off with The One Gala last Saturday. Thank you so much to everyone who attended and contributed and to our chairs, Bobby and Andrea Aertker, the entire Gala Committee and Katie Tressel and Leigh Moorman. It takes many hands to pull off an event of this magnitude and they did a fantastic job! On Monday, our 8th graders left for Washington, D.C. and our 5th graders were off to Camp Kappe. On Tuesday, our 6th graders departed for Camp Allen while our 7th graders were off to San Antonio! It feels strange to have almost 200 of our Dolphins spread throughout the state and country. We are so grateful for the opportunity for this extended learning outside the classroom while also growing together as a class and making great memories! We hope that you each enjoy your Spring Break whether that also involves travel or relaxing family time at home. We’ll see you on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th!

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker

Principal

📅 Camp Schedule:

🕘 Morning Session: 9 AM – Noon

🕐 Afternoon Session: 1 PM – 4 PM

🌟 Camp Offerings:

🎨 Art Camp (Mrs. Ettman) Campers will create delightful doodles, dynamic line designs and dazzling drawings! We will take basic lines and shapes, learn to recognize them in our environment and combine them to start drawing what we see. Older campers will experiment with shading and perspective in order to create realistic three-dimensional images.

Calling all Rising 1st – Rising 4th Graders! Get ready for a week of games, crafts, learning, and fun with Ms. Morgan and Mrs. Blakesley at our Summer Smarty Party Camp! This exciting camp will include STEM and Literacy Enrichment activities designed to keep young minds engaged and inspired.

🔬 Science Camp (Mrs. Johnston & Ms. Burnette)

🎥 Broadcast Camp (Mrs. Blouin & Mrs. Failde) (Limited to 10 students per session)

Step into the world of media production! Aspiring broadcasters in rising 5th-8th grade will spend a week learning the ins and outs of  broadcasting—operating cameras, filming segments, editing footage, and delivering the news just like the pros. By Friday, campers will have created their own DNN News Show to share with family and friends. Whether they want to be on air or behind the lens, this hands-on camp is the perfect place to explore media, storytelling, and production in a fun and fast-paced setting.

Happy Fun Camp (Ms. McDowell)

Join Ms. McDowell for a fun-filled indoor camping adventure this summer! Stay cool while enjoying all the best parts of camp—telling spooky stories around a (pretend) campfire, singing silly outdoor-themed songs, and making delicious "not-so-hot" S'mores. To wrap up the week, you’ll sew a teddy bear to donate to children in our community. Don’t miss this unique blend of camping fun—all in the comfort of A/C! ⛺🔥🎶

We can’t wait for a summer full of learning and fun! If you have any questions about any of these camps, please contact the camp organizers directly.

Shaping Souls Newsletter - Vol. 6: Lent: Disconnect to Reconnect

Many of us are familiar with the various traditions and customs of Lent such as receiving ashes on your forehead or giving up something for the season and abstaining from meat on Fridays. Our parishes, too, are gearing up with various speakers and prayerful events to help the faithful enter Lent. However, many may not know the intention or history of many of the beautiful traditions of this sacred season that invites us to grow closer to God through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving.

To help families disconnect from tech and reconnect with God and one another this Lent, we designed a printable Smart Families Lenten challenge and accountability calendar in this month's newsletter. Check it out below!
