October 3, 2025

Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

Happy October! As we start this month, our Church invites us to turn our hearts more intentionally to Mary through the prayer of the Holy Rosary. We draw closer to Jesus through the loving intercession of His Mother. There are many ways we can honor Mary as a school. Every Tuesday morning, the Rosary Club meets in the Fellowship Hall at 7:15 am to pray together. All students and parents are welcome to join. Family rosaries are held for parents every Wednesday (English) at 8am in PLB Room 204 and every Thursday (Spanish) in PLB Room 204.

This month, we would like to honor Our Lady as a school community by praying the Rosary together throughout the month at our homes. As we’ve done in years past, we’ve created a Sign-Up Genius where families can choose a date and time to pray. Our goal is that our month is filled with prayers sent up in honor of our Blessed Mother. Please click this link to sign up: Family Rosary Sign-up

Thank you for helping us make October a month filled with prayer, devotion, and the joy of honoring Mary. May the Rosary draw us all closer to Jesus, and may Our Lady continue to watch over our school family.

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker

SMART FAMILIES

SMART FAMILIES - BE NOT AFRAID

The latest issue of the Smart Families Be Not Afraid newsletter is now available! Click below to learn more about "The Power of Family Prayer".

In today’s world, it’s easy for screens to capture our attention and pull us away from what matters most. Prayer is where families find strength, love, and unity. By turning from the cold glow of devices to the warm light of faith, we safeguard our hearts and homes. Let us recommit to family prayer, teaching our children that God’s presence is always brighter than distraction.

šŸ“… Don’t miss our upcoming online talk:

Navigating Tech Through the Lens of Faith

October 21 | 9:00 AM & 7:00 PM CDT

Join us for an engaging conversation on how faith can guide the way we interact with technology in our daily lives. This session will explore the impact of social media and digital devices on families, relationships, and spiritual well-being. Together, we’ll reflect on how to use technology with intention and balance—ensuring these tools serve rather than distract from our higher calling.

NURSE NOTES

NURSE NOTES

For 9/30/25-10/3/25:

1st Grade: 1 suspected case of tummy bug

4th Grade: 1 case of strep throat, 1 suspected case of hand, foot & mouth

5th Grade: 1 case of influenza (B)

6th Grade: 1 case of COVID, 1 suspected case of tummy bug

7th Grade: 1 suspected case of tummy bug

8th Grade: 1 suspected case of tummy bug

This is the time of year we start to see cases of illness increase. Please remind your children to wash their hands frequently (the teachers do remind them) and cover to cough/sneeze.

**It was noted especially in middle school students have been sharing/trading food, although it may happen in lower grades sometimes too. We encourage students not to share food due to students with food allergies and other medical concerns. The teachers do remind students not to share. Please talk with your child(ren) regarding the importance of not sharing/trading food at lunch, ESPECIALLY if your child has a food allergy. I know it is fun to share food, especially if you get to have something that you don’t usually have at home, but we highly discourage it for medical concerns here at school.**

SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL

As we celebrate the 25th year of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School, we give thanks for the many blessings that generous donors have made possible. For a quarter of a century, the Fund for St. Anthony has provided resources beyond tuition—helping us balance our budget, strengthen our mission, and create opportunities that inspire our students to grow in faith, knowledge, and service.

This year, donor support made it possible to:

  • Added support teachers to boost Math & ELA growth across all grades
  • Launch Science of Reading (UFLI) and Handwriting Without Tears in PreK–2nd
  • Expand middle school electives: 6th Grade Guidance, Speech & Debate, and Life Lab
  • Install a front office safety enclosure, upgrade window protection, and add campus cameras
  • Begin Marian Garden improvements for prayer and outdoor learning
  • Improve guest experience with new gym signage and awning

This 25th year, your gift will help us continue to invest in faculty development, spiritual enrichment, tuition assistance, and technology upgrades—all things that keep St. Anthony strong for today and the future. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a direct impact. Our goal is 100% participation from all enrolled families in this milestone year.
