Dear St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School Families,

I need to share some news regarding a very beloved member of our school family. Mary Cunningham will be retiring on October 2nd after 16 years of serving our school community. Since my first moments on campus I quickly learned that Mary is the heart and soul of St. Anthony. She knows everyone and we all love her! While I have a hard time envisioning the front office without her, I’m excited for her to enjoy some much-deserved relaxation, later starts to her mornings and time with family. While it’s hard with current restrictions on campus visitors, I’m sure she would love to hear from you. We are very blessed to have Mrs. Kristina Martin joining our school family to serve along Mrs. Bierbaum at the front desk. Mrs. Martin’s family was a founding family of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She was very involved in youth ministry as a teen and is excited to return to the place she thinks of as “home”. She shared that she would like to carry on Mrs. Cunningham’s ability to spread joy and make students, families and visitors feel like they belong. Happy Retirement, Mrs. Cunningham! And welcome to St. Anthony of Padua, Mrs. Martin!

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker
  • Please remember that morning arrival at the front of the school is not a carline drop-off. You must park your vehicle, walk to the sidewalk and remain with your student until their COVID screening is completed.
  • Front of school dismissal --for the safety of our students and staff, please do not pull out of the afternoon pick-up line to go around waiting vehicles unless directed to do so by a staff member on duty.
  • Please clearly display your orange car line sign in your windshield until your student is picked up.

Please remind your students to use the following guidelines as outlined in the Family Handbook on Free Dress Days or Spirit Shirt & Jeans Days.
  • Clothing must be modest and appropriate for wear in the Catholic school setting.
  • The length of skirts and dresses should be no shorter than 2” above the knee.
  • Tank tops, halter-tops, midriff shirts, shorts shorter than fingertip length, or any garments exposing an inappropriate amount of a student’s body are not permitted.
  • Clothing should not be too tight or revealing.
  • Garments with advertisements for cigarettes, alcohol, or music groups may not be worn. Garments with offensive or inappropriate language, graphics, or symbols may not be worn.
  • Garments such as sweatshirts and t-shirts with appropriate references to collegiate or sports teams are acceptable on non-uniform days.
  • Hats/caps are not indoor wear and not allowed in the classroom.
  • When blue jeans are worn, they may not be frayed, tattered, too tight, too baggy, or too low.
  • Boots with heels no higher than one (1) inch are permitted on free dress days.
The following students have been nominated by their homeroom teacher for the Character Counts award for the month of September. These students have exemplified the character trait of Respect. The KJV Dictionary’s definition of respect is to regard; or to consider others with some degree of reverence; to esteem others as valued. Congratulations!

We need your help to create a video highlighting some of the different countries and nationalities that the families of STAOPCS represent. Families are asked to create a 2-minute video highlighting their country, traditions, food, dress or other information for our students. Videos will be compiled to show to our students on International Day in their classrooms! If your family would like to participate, please sign-up using the sign-up genius. Please make note of the other families who have already signed up so that we don't have more than 2 families representing the same countries. All videos must be submitted by Oct. 7th! More information on how to submit each video will be emailed to those who sign-up.

PARENTS, I just want to thank you for continuing to partner with us for the safety of our school. I know this year has been challenging (and frustrating) regarding colds/allergies, etc. because we have to be so careful due to COVID-19. Thank you for making extra doctor visits, thank you for your patience and understanding. All of your “extras” have gotten us this far without any setbacks. I pray that it continues to go well. - Nurse Pavlock
We will continue to work closely with our local health department officials and the Catholic Schools Office to ensure the safety of our students and staff should the school experience a positive case of COVID-19. Please see the attached documents regarding screening of your students and on-campus requirements should someone test positive for COVID-19.
