Dear Families of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School,

As mentioned a couple of weeks ago, each month we focus on a character trait. This month, our character trait is RESPECT. Over our all-school announcements, I shared with the students that respect means caring enough to think about how you impact others. We hear the phrases: “have respect” or “show respect”. At the heart of respect is caring. And, taking that a step further, as people who know and love God, respect is seeing the other person as made in the image of God. Because we love God, we love one another and we respect one another. Showing respect means changing our actions, if necessary, to be sure our actions have a positive impact on those around us. We reminded our students that respect means following the rules --- even when our students might not like them. Last week, Father Jesse started his classroom visits emphasizing our call to respect and love one another. I am so grateful for Father Jesse’s dedication to our students and passion for all to live a life modeled after the Golden Rule. We ask you, our parents and families, to continue to partner with us to emphasize our character traits at home.

Only by His Grace,

Veronica Tucker

Principal

ALL-SCHOOL NEWS

SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT - Personal Pick-up/Dismissal

Recently, fencing from the chapel construction was removed and opened up the driveway behind the school. Traffic is now able to enter and exit the back parking lot for arrivals and dismissals. Unfortunately, parents and guardians are now parking in the rear parking lot and walking across the open field to line up for personal pick-up before 3:15 PM when the gates are opened. This is a safety concern for our campus.

The back of our campus is actively used by our students and staff up until 3:15 PM. Classes are sometimes held outside, some students have recess at the end of the day, and students transition between parts of the building through the back breezeway.

Please do not line up at our doors for personal pick-up before 3:15 PM. If you choose to come early, please remain in the parking lot until the gates are opened at 3:15 PM. Thank you for keeping our campus safe!
