The Handbell Choir received an unexpectedly wonderful donation of $100 last week. We were not told just who the generous giver was so please know how much your gift will be appreciated.

The money has been put in our savings account and will be used next year to purchase new music – the bell ringers love new music! Thank you , thank you, thank you for your support of the handbell choir!
Shirley Thompson will be celebrating her 90th birthday on November 29th. As a long-time member of this church, she would really enjoy cards from people in the congregation during the month of November. She has been an integral part of the music program participating in chancel choir, Wesley Anns, bell choir, and as a soloist. United Methodist Women was an important part of her life. She was a district president, a member of Sarah Circle, and chaired Holiday Fair. She also started and organized the ROAM group.

Shirley really misses coming to church services. If you could include a memory or a short anecdote in your card she would love reading it with her family. Her address is: 1207 Purdue Drive, Longmont, CO 80503. Thank you so much!
The Farrenkopf-Rivera family welcomed two healthy baby girls on the morning of Thursday, October 29th, and everyone is doing great! Daisy Esther was born first and weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces. Her sister Violet DeVee was born two minutes later and weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces! Babies, mom, dad, and big sister Charlotte are all happily adjusting to life at home.
A great big Thank You to all the crocheters and knitters of the Church!! Our Prayer Shawl basket is overflowing with shawls. Once again, thank you for all your hard work and time to make such beautiful shawls of love and care!!

Since our basket is overflowing, if you or anyone you know is need of a shawl full of LOVE, please come to the Church and take one to give to them. During this time of so many issues in our world, we need all the love, prayers, and comfort that we can find.

Once again Thank You for your service in this ministry!

Blessing to all,
Kathy Bradley

The Heart’s New Little Library

The installation of the Little Library has been completed. The Staff Parish Relations Committee is so grateful to Gordon Yoder for his beautiful craftsmanship in building the library. He, along with Butch Howard and Rod Edmonds, strategized, measured and leveled to get the perfect placement. Our hope is that the library spreads good will throughout our neighborhood.
Another BIG THANK YOU from the OUR Center.

When we ask you to support the OUR Center with your donations of food, toothpaste, TP, or money…you always respond in a big way.

Even when we don’t have an organized effort…you respond, as was evidenced this past week when we delivered 244 pounds of food and other goodies!

Just one more example of the Heart of Longmont putting more of God’s love into the world.

UMW 2020 Reading Program Readers REMINDER
The Reading Program books for 2020 have been placed on the library table in the Gallery for easy check-out. Just fill in the book card and place it in the green holder on the table. When you bring the book back, please place the card back in the book and leave it on the table. I will need your name and the number of books read by December 1st in order to submit the report to the District.

The books are available for any interested reader, even if you are not participating in the program. However, I would ask that the books be checked out for a maximum of two weeks as we have few available books at the present time. The books can be accessed during church office hours or at any time if you have a key to the front door.

If anyone has any questions, please e-mail me at or call me at 720-684-6185. Thanks so much and happy reading.

November Compassion Offering

Special Sunday Offerings
by Jan Timmons

Since we have missed most of the special Sunday offerings due to the pandemic, the compassion offering for November will be evenly divided between these special offerings which are: Peace with Justice, World Communion, Native American, UMCOR, and United Methodist Student Day.

Peace with Justice encourages living the gospel of peace.

Native American Day supports education for Native American leaders.

Young adults are aided through the World Communion which supports their growth as leaders.
The United Methodist emergency relief fund is supported through contributions to the UMCOR fund.

On campus ministries are supported through the United Methodist Student Day offering.

All of these plus Human Relations Day are special offerings that are taken through out the year. We were meeting on Human Relations Sunday, so that is not included with this group.

Thank you to everyone who has given so generously to the compassion offerings this year. Many people were helped because of your generosity!
Christmas Baskets for Wild Plum Families
Hello everyone! Thank you for your support so far! I wanted to share an update with you and continue to ask you all for your support.

Due to COVID, Wild Plum currently has 36 students with a hope to increase to 48 before Christmas break. So that makes our initial goal of helping the kids in our building EVEN MORE attainable! We currently have donations for 9 families and an additional 6 have been adopted.

We're making great progress, but still need your support! Demographic information is provided for each family. We have families that are small and large; boys, girls, or both; young or mixed ages. All donations are due no later than Monday, December 14th.

We'd like to thank UMW, The Allisons, and Sandra Towry for your generous donations to this mission!

Also thank you to Brenda Graffis, Jean Malchow and Karl Scott, The Edmonds, and the Grafelman's for adopting families.

This is great work that will make a HUGE impact this Christmas!

If you would like to adopt a family, contact Misty Bone. Or, to make a donation to this project, send a check to the church office (please note that it is for the Wild Plum Christmas Basket project).

An Advent Gift From Heart of Longmont
Have you checked your calendar? There are only 2 months left until Christmas and a little over a month until we begin celebrating Advent! Yes, this will be an Advent and Christmas unlike any other, and we want to help you celebrate the season in new ways and to feel more connected as a church family. This year, we want to give each household an Advent Box, filled with devotionals and activities to make the most out of our weeks of Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace. This is NOT just for families, but for every single household.

These boxes are free, a gift of love from your church, and will be available for pick-up at church on two occasions: Wednesday, November 18th from 5-7 pm and Sunday, November 22nd from 12-2 pm. If you are unable to swing by the church to pick up your Advent Box, we have some HOL angels that will deliver to your door step.

If you have any questions, please contact Tricia Grafelman at 303-506-3678.
