Help Reach Our Year-End Goals
Did you know?

  • Nearly 1/3 of annual giving occurs in December
  • Donors give about $48 billion from November to December every year
  • 12% of all annual giving occurs on the last 3 days of the year!

We are relying on you to help us reach our year-end goals, so now is a good time to think about fitting year-end or monthly giving into your budget.

We know you have Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas to think about, but consider making a financial investment to strengthen programs and meet critical needs in our community.

A Beautiful Act of Service
On Saturday, November 16, a group of UAServe volunteers from Wethersfield Evangelical Free Church gave up their day to pay it forward and help with a fall cleanup at Coram Deo Recovery, an organization that provides safe, structured sober housing for women who are struggling with addiction and abuse.

"We are beyond grateful for [their] act of kindness and service. I stand in awe at what [they] accomplished and what a mighty God we serve." —Jody Davis, Coram Deo

"Coram Deo is a true reflection of Christ’s love, forgiveness, redemption and transformation." —Mike Schuberth, Volunteer Group Leader from Wethersfield Evangelical Free Church

Gathering and Training Recaps
At the Connecting People to Community Resources training at  UA on November 7,  27 people from 17 churches and organizations learned how to better understand the needs of their communities, develop a strategy for connecting people to resources and effectively engage the people they serve.

Kate Quigley from  211 United Way presented valuable information about navigating the 211 database and online resources.

And at last month's Charis learning community at Urban Alliance, 39 leaders from 28 churches and organizations in the UA network gathered to learn about the diversity of life situations among singles and how to support singles—including information about support groups.

The group also engaged in a Q&A with a panel of people representing various seasons of singleness.

Development Opportunity
Churches and organizations in the UA network can develop stronger community programs  with Urban Alliance support through this opportunity:

When children and youth partner with supportive adults to plan and implement service projects, they develop leadership skills and build character. UA offers grant funding for service projects developed, led and implemented by children and youth to positively impact their local community. The Adult-Youth Partnerships as a Strategy for Leadership Development Training is a prerequisite for this grant opportunity.
