UCSF CRNA's Launches a Pilot Training on Airway Management
In a demonstration of ongoing commitment to patient safety and interdisciplinary collaboration, the UCSF CRNA team recently led an airway management education session for the OR nursing staff. This pilot training, launched at Mission Bay, focused on upskilling nurses to assist during intubation and extubation, as well as preparing and gathering supplies during airway emergencies. By strengthening these critical skills, the CRNAs are not only enhancing the confidence and readiness of the OR nursing colleagues but also reinforcing a team-based approach to high-stakes situations. The goal is to expand this training across all perioperative sites to support consistent, high-quality patient care system-wide. This initiative reflects the CRNAs’ dedication to fostering collaboration with all members of the perioperative team and ensuring safe, seamless care for our patients.
