What's Happening?

Winter College Closure Dates & Sandbox Hiatus


We did it, Dolphins! Happy Winter Break! As a reminder, all Coastline College campuses will be closed starting Thursday, December 19th through Wednesday, January 1st. The college will re-open and Winter Intersession will begin on Thursday, January 2nd.


The Sandbox will also be taking a short break for the holidays and there will be no issue next Sunday, December 22nd, or the following Sunday, December 29th. We'll see you with a new issue in the new year on Sunday, January 5th! We hope you have a happy, restful, healthy, and safe holiday season and we'll see you in 2025!

Have a Lucrative Break and Get Money for School! Coastline Scholarship Application is Open Now!


Coastline Scholarships are open now and the deadline is fast approaching! Do you have a story to tell? A community you want to impact? Hopes and dreams for you or your family? Share your story and narrative for a chance to win a scholarship!


Coastline Scholarships are open through January 8th, 2025. Visit the Coastline scholarship website for in depth requirements, additional guidelines, and to apply! If you have any questions, please contact scholarships@coastline.edu.

Scholarship Alert!

APIA/AANAPISI Scholarship Application Now Open!


The APIA/AANAPISI Scholarship application is now available for Coastline students! Scholarship awards range from one-time $2,500 to multi-year awards of up to $20,000! Note that while a student can apply for both the APIA and AANAPISI Scholarships using a single application, only one scholarship will be awarded in an academic year, not both.


The deadline to apply is January 15th, 2025 at 5pm EST. Learn more about eligibility and how to apply at apiascholars.org/scholarships.

Earn college credits in an accelerated format during intersession! 4-week intersession courses are brief and compressed into longer days and intense studying. The variety of classes is more limited than a typical semester but 100% worth it! Get started by checking out available courses in the class schedule then register today!


Need Money for College? Good News! The 2025-26 FAFSA is Open!

The 2025-26 FAFSA is now open to all students! Apply now to secure federal grants, work-study, loans, and more for the upcoming academic year. Visit the FAFSA website and use Coastline College’s school code: 013536. For the California Dream Act students, visit the CADAA website and use 020635 as Coastline College’s school code. Need help? Contact the Financial Aid Office or join a FAFSA workshop — details can be found on the Financial Aid website. Apply early to maximize your financial aid opportunities!


Coastline Dolphins Ride OC Bus for Free!

Are crazy gas prices still putting a strain on your wallet? Coastline students can now ride the OC bus to school, work, shopping, and the beach for free! With unlimited rides on all OC Bus local fixed routes*, it is easy and convenient to get to Coastline College. Relax in air-conditioned buses and avoid paying parking costs or steep fuel prices. MESA provides support services for underrepresented students pursuing degrees in calculus-based STEM majors through specialized academic advising, community building, tutoring, supplies, and more! Do you identify as a 1st generation college student? Are you eligible to receive need-based financial aid? Are you looking to transfer to a four-year university for your 1st bachelor's degree? Are you in a calculus-based STEM major at Coastline? If you answered yes to all of these questions, you are eligible to apply to MESA! Hey, Dolphins! Did you know that you have a free resource to basic needs, from any city within the United States? That's right! Food assistance, low cost prescriptions, transportation, housing assistance and more. You can access free or low cost services through the TimelyCare app. Signing up is easy. All you have to do is download the TimelyCare app or visit timelycare.com/coastline on your web-enabled device, sign in with your school .edu email address, then create a profile - and that’s it!
