Brush management deadline

is June 1, 2023

Fire prevention efforts are most successful when we work together! Learn more about the Fire Hazard Reduction Program (FHRP) at CityofVentura.ca.gov/FHRP

Those properties and homes located in Ventura's high fire hazard severity zones are required to perform fire hazard reduction brush management by June 1, 2023.

National Police Week:

May 14 - May 20

During National Police Week, happening May 14-20, we recognize the 137 police officers whoโ€™ve selflessly sworn to protect and serve Ventura and honor Corporal Chris Bridges as the Officer of the Year.

Natl Police Week is also a time to honor fallen officers who've given their lives in the line of duty, including the loss of Ventura Police Sergeant Darlon โ€œDeeโ€ Dowell who was tragically killed on August 7, 1978. The street in which the VPD headquarters is located is named Dowell Drive in his honor.

National Public Works Week:

May 21 - May 27

National Public Works Week was created in 1960 to highlight the importance of public works to their daily lives: planning, building, managing, and operating at the heart of their local communities to improve everyday quality of life.

Thank you, Public Works, Parks and Recreation, and Ventura Water, for the work you do around the clock, 365 days a year!
