 Dear Provider,

In light of the recent cyber breach reported at Oxfordshire County Council, we are writing to encourage all adult social care providers to take a moment to review their own data and cybersecurity arrangements.

While we recognise that no system can be entirely immune from risk, incidents such as this highlight the importance of regularly reviewing and strengthening your protections. One of the best ways to do this is by completing and publishing your Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) by 30 June. Doing so not only ensures compliance but also provides a valuable opportunity to assess whether your current data security policies and procedures are robust and to identify any areas where improvements may be needed.

The DSPT offers a structured framework to help you check that the right safeguards are in place to protect the sensitive data you hold and manage.

If you have already completed your DSPT for this year, thank you. If not, we strongly urge you to prioritise this in the coming days.

We really appreciate your time in completing this survey – your feedback helps strengthen data protection across the care sector.
