Become a Santa to a Senior


Donate a new, unwrapped gift from our official Santa to a Senior wish list and deliver it to one of the designated drop-off locations by December 14.


Help bring holiday cheer to seniors aged 60 and above, affiliated with the Ventura Avenue Adult Center’s Senior Nutrition Program. This program caters to seniors through both in-person meals and homebound deliveries.

December 1: Help us Stuff-a-Sleigh


Lend a helping hand to those in need by bringing an unwrapped toy, sporting good, book, or nonperishable food item to Ventura's inaugural Stuff-a-Sleigh toy and food drive this Friday, December 1, from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. in Downtown Ventura.

December 6: Your questions, our answers at Cocoa with a Cop


Join Ventura PD for a jolly good time at Cocoa with a Cop on Wednesday, December 6, from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at Lovewell Tea & Coffee! Enjoy a cup of cocoa, chat with Chief Schindler, meet officers, and build a safer community!

In a recent interview with Our Ventura TV, Gina Dorrington, Ventura Water General Manager, and Phil Nelson, Public Works Director, shared insights into their roles in safeguarding the community.


ο»ΏGina highlighted Ventura Water's mission to provide essential water and wastewater services, emphasizing the need for a diverse water portfolio. Phil discussed Public Works' responsibilities, from roads and buildings to environmental programs.

60 Thanksgiving meals delivered to local families


We're thankful for the Ventura Community Partners Foundation, who collaborated with our Parks and Recreation team to sponsor 60 full Thanksgiving Meal Baskets for local families in need.


We also thanked project partner WinCo Foods for their support in managing and prioritizing this large order (from the turkey to the pumpkin pie) during the busy holiday season.

Gold Coast Transit Survey

Share your input with Gold Coast Transit


The Gold Coast Transit District (GCTD) is working on a new Short Range Transit Plan with the goal of improving mobility and quality of life in our region.


GCTD wants to hear from Ventura residents, whether or not you ride the bus, about the condition of the existing transit system and where they should focus improvement efforts. Take the survey through December 31 at GCTD.org/SRT24


Complete the survey for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card and a 31-day bus pass.
