Washington DECA is honoring our first-ever DECA-ccomplishments winner: Advisor Michele Stern from Ferndale High School!

She was recommended by TWO of her students for being the epitome of DECA values and for the genuine relationships she takes care to build. Thank you, Ms. Stern, for being a pillar of our Washington DECA community and for all your support!

Teacher Tips

Teacher Tip:

Make #besties. Establish strong relationships early on with the front office assistants and the custodians, as you will need them in your court countless times week in and week out (if not daily). They have eyes and ears on all aspects of the school community, and they will be your go-to ally in many instances, promise.

Give yourself the gift of not having to know everything. Don’t be afraid, ask, ask, ask questions of veteran teachers you trust. PLUS, the office manager and the custodian can save you, make friends with them!

You Matter

Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher. Learning from a truly great teacher is discovery—not studying. And a thousand days seem like one day for the inspired pupil. You’ve got what it takes to be an inspiration!
