Callie Altman has turned her passion for candle making as a young girl into a successful business. The mission is to "capture the charm of the Blue Ridge Mountains by hand crafting the highest quality fragrance products to help create a cozy atmosphere for your home." North Mountain Candle Company makes soy wax candles & Aroma Melts. All of their products are poured by hand, in small batches, right here in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia.
They use only 100% soy wax made from soybeans grown in the United States. All of the candles are made using lead free wicks and all of the fragrances are phthalate free. The scents support the mission well and include: The Summer Collections, Blue Ridge Favorites, The Farmhouse Collection, The Clean + Calm Collection, Fresh Picked, and The Man Cave Collection, to name a few. New scents are being added all the time.
Callie sells her products online and at shops throughout the region. Locally her scented candles can be found at Bryan Orchards Farm Market, Patina Creek Creative, Jeter Farm, and Dilly Dally. They candles are also sold at pop-up shops during the year. A list of locations can be found on her website.
