2019-2020 WDPTA Service Awards
On behalf of WDPTA, we would like to recognize this year’s Service Awards winners. We know that all of our volunteers do not serve out of an abundance of time and energy, nor do they do it for personal recognition, but rather, out of a desire to serve our students and build up the connections and community at Walt Disney. For that, we are so grateful!

WDPTA 2020-2021 Reflections Arts Program
Explore the Arts and Express Yourself
National PTA's Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Each year, over 300,000 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. This 50+ year-old program helps them explore their own thoughts, feelings and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful in school and in life.
ο»Ώ
The theme for the 2020-2021 program year is I Matter Because... . Students submit their completed works of art in one or all of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts.

Virtual Run for Education
The Run for Education is going VIRTUAL in 2020!

What is a Virtual Run?
A virtual run is a race where you can run, jog, walk or roll for the distance of your choosing. Whether on the road, trail, treadmill or track, you decide when you do it – between September 12-October 11 – and you pick the finish line! Complete a virtual 1K (Friendship or Mini Run), 5K, 10K, or create one of your own. Should you choose to time yourself, you can upload the results and even print a certificate of completion!

Why should I sign up for this Virtual Run?
To earn money for OUR school! This event will be a fundraiser for the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation and OUR school with 40% of registration net proceeds going directly to Walt Disney! Additionally, the Run for Education is setting up pledge pages for every participant that will allow us to raise even more money with 70% of those donations coming directly to us. Given our current situation, this is a great way to help our school make up for potential budget shortfalls we might see in many areas.

When should I sign up for this Virtual Run?
Soon! Registration opens June 1, 2020 at www.srvef.org . The low registration price of $25 includes a running buff! You can still order a shirt to keep your collection up to date, but orders need to be placed soon to guarantee delivery by September 1st!

We are excited about the possibilities this new format offers our school! This is a healthy, family activity we can all enjoy while still observing proper physical distancing AND raising funds to support our programs and people!
