Monday Class Lineup
5:00 PM - AKC Rally
Drop-In Class
Spots Available! - Please RSVP via email
Think of an AKC Rally event as any team sport: You and your dog navigate a course, side-by-side, as you steer them through a course of different signs. Each of these signs provides instructions regarding the next skill that is to be performed. The dog and handler move continuously throughout the course with the dog under control at the handler’s left side. There is a clear sense of teamwork between the dog and handler both during and between the numbered signs. Although each performance is timed, having a good race time is not the goal; it’s all about working as a team while performing the skills, with the dog under control. (Courtesy of: AKC.org)

7:30 PM AKC Canine Good Citizen - Week 4
Please email us to be put on the waitlist for the next round of classes beginning in mid-February.
In class this past week, we practiced many of the skills (on request) that will be required to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test including accepting a friendly stranger, grooming (cooperative care), loose leash walking, down/sit with duration on a long line - 20 ft, as well as walking through a crowd. Some classmates chose to practice various skills that needed a bit of touch up work including leaving your canine with the trainer for ~3 mins (supervised separation).
Remember to bring a variety of treats and plenty of them to each class, along with your water and water bowl, and brush.
Homework included: practicing come to front/side, playing a game and having fun during training, keeping leash in right and treats in left (also keeping the dog on the left), finishing work - finish left and finish front, and working on different surfaces.
