A Grace-Filled Celebration of Generous Hearts!

LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR

Dear St. Antoninus Family,

I have to say—God amazes me every time, and so do you!

Once again, this year’s Harvest was a tremendous success—and on top of that, we had a truly joyful time together!

First and foremost, thank You, Jesus!

And from my heart, thank you to all our parishioners and friends of St. Antoninus for the gift of yourselves and for the wonderful time we had together.

My deep gratitude goes to everyone who worked so hard to prepare for this celebration, especially our committee chairs: Dr. Christina, Dr. Adaora, and Rev. Sr. Genevieve, and our behind-the-scenes champion, Teresa.

Thank you, Fr. Anthony for preaching the Word with power. Thank you to the entire Harvest Committee and all who labored to make the day both beautiful (thank you, Pearl and John) and delicious (thank you, Dianne, Mary, and Lovelyn & team).

Thank you to all our generous donors. Thank you to Jean-Claud Jean Bart, our Father of the Day; Nkiruka Ike-Egolum, our Mother of the Day; Obidimma & Sotonye Ikeh, our Newlyweds of the Day; Mayowa Oloba, our Prince of the Day; and GoldClara Chimamanda Agaranwa, Princess of the Day.

Thank you to our Service Awardees: Pauline Enechukwu & Julius Spohn. A special thanks to our very generous anonymous donor and to all who gave sacrificially with the matching gift.

Thank you to our emcee, Veronica; our DJ, Ahmed-Marie; our photographer, Jefferson; Cassilda and her team of counters; Dasaret, Guijard & Bill for clean-up and security, and thank you to each and every volunteer who served in any way to make everything run so beautifully. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As I look to our future, my heart is filled with hope. I know we will need to make some important adjustments regarding the use of our convent and rectory, and in how we collaborate with our neighboring parishes. But I believe even these changes will unfold as blessings.

I am reminded of the Lord’s promise to the Philippians—and to us:

“He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion…” (Phil 1:6)

Please know that I am thinking of all of you and praying for each of you.

In Jesus, through Mary and St. Joseph,

Fr. Joseph

Jubilee Thanksgiving Harvest 2025: A Day of Glory and Gratitude

Last Sunday, October 4, our parish family gathered in joyful celebration for our Jubilee Thanksgiving Harvest 2025—marking 150 years of God’s faithfulness to St. Antoninus Church.

The day began with a solemn and joy-filled Holy Mass at 10:00 AM, celebrated by our pastor, Fr. Joseph and the homily was preached by Fr. Anthony .

During the Prayer of the Faithful, the entire parish united in a moving Consecration of our Parish and the 150th Jubilee to God, entrusting our past, present, and future to the Lord. The prayer began:

“From generation to generation, You have poured out Your mercy upon this parish of St. Antoninus. From our founding in 1875 until today, You have gathered a family of faith here to worship You in Spirit and in Truth. We thank You for every grace, every vocation, every act of love, every soul renewed by the sacraments in this holy place…”

Parade of Nations

During the Offertory, a vibrant Parade of 26 Nations took place. Representatives proudly carried their national flags in joyful procession to the altar, offering their heritage and thanksgiving to God. It was a powerful testimony to the rich cultural diversity and unity that define our parish community.

Service & Jubilee Legacy Awards

At the conclusion of the Mass, two distinguished honors were presented:

The Service Award was given to  Pauline Enechukwu in recognition of her 35 years of faithful ministry and generous service for the sick and homebound .

The Jubilee Legacy Award was presented to Julius Spohn in recognition of his service to St. Antoninus over 70 years ago, during the era of the Dominican Fathers—honoring him as a living bridge to our parish’s earliest traditions.

Jubilee Celebration Continues

Following the liturgy, parishioners and friends proceeded downstairs to a festively decorated church hall where the jubilee celebration continued. A delicious lunch was shared by all, setting the tone for a joyful and spirited Harvest fundraising event.

Our five Honorary Sponsors—Jean-Claud Jean Bart (Father of the Day), Nkiruka Ike-Egolum (Mother of the Day), Obidimma & Sotonye Ikeh (Newlyweds of the Day), Mayowa Oloba (Prince of the Day), and GoldClara Chimamanda Agaranwa (Princess of the Day)—were seated at the high table along with other parishioners. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt generosity as the community came together to raise much-needed funds for the parish. (For a more complete list of Harvest donors and volunteers, refer to Fr Joseph's letter.)

See photos below in this order: Father of the Day, Mother of the Day, Newlyweds of the Day, Prince of the Day & Princess of the Day.

The Beauty of Hope - Fr. John Riccardo

In the midst of a fallen world, Fr. John Riccardo speaks about the unwavering trust and hope that Christians are called to. When tempted to despair, we are challenged to hope that the Lord is addressing the storms in our lives, the lives of others, and the life of the Church.

Vickie Smith has been told by Jesus not to think of spiritual warfare without the word victory. In this podcast, she will explain the mindset and practices necessary to claim victory in spiritual warfare.
