Caribbean Relief Fund for Jamaica

The Kiwanis Foundation of Canada (KFC) is excited to collaborate with you in 2026 to support impactful local programs and initiatives.

If you are considering a contribution to the Caribbean Relief Fund for Jamaica, please remember that the CRA year-end donation deadline is fast approaching. To donate online, simply click the button at the end of this newsletter to access the CanadaHelps website, then select "Caribbean Relief for Jamaica" from the drop-down menu. If you prefer to donate by cheque, the Kiwanis Foundation’s mailing address is also included at the end of the newsletter. This relief fund is eligible for a 3-to-1 matching opportunity (the KFC will donate $1 for every $3 donated).

Amplify Your Impact

The Kiwanis Foundation of Canada empowers clubs to expand their impact on youth by annually distributing over $180,000 in scholarships and grants. Clubs become eligible for these grants by donating $15 per member—for example, a club with 25 members would contribute $375. This investment can yield significant returns, as the foundation matches club scholarships up to $1,000, adds $500 for Key Club/CKI student scholarships, and contributes $500 to organized youth programs when a minimum of $1,000 is invested. Thus, a $375 donation can result in up to $2,000 in grant benefits, offering a fivefold return. Additionally, new grant programs, such as the Street Outreach and Environmental grants, are in development. La Fondation Kiwanis du Canada (FKC) est ravie de collaborer avec vous en 2026 afin de soutenir des programmes et des initiatives locales ayant un impact réel.

Si vous envisagez de contribuer au Fonds de secours des Caraïbes pour la Jamaïque, veuillez noter que la date limite de fin d’année de l’ARC pour les dons approche rapidement. Pour faire un don en ligne, il suffit de cliquer sur le bouton à la fin de ce bulletin afin d’accéder au site CanadaHelps, puis de choisir « Caribbean Relief for Jamaica » dans le menu déroulant. Si vous préférez faire un don par chèque, l’adresse postale de la Fondation Kiwanis est également indiquée à la fin du bulletin. Ce fonds de secours donne droit à une opportunité de contrepartie de 3 pour 1 (la FKC versera 1 $ pour chaque don de 3 $).

Growing Community Roots: Chatham Kent Kiwanis Tree Planting Initiative



The Chatham Kent Kiwanis Club continues to make a lasting impact on our local environment through dedicated tree planting efforts. Over the past three years, our Tree Planting Committee has successfully planted more than 50 native trees in public spaces and schoolyards, working closely with municipal representatives and the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority to ensure every tree supports our local landscape and biodiversity.

Au cours des trois dernières années, notre comité de plantation d’arbres a réussi à planter plus de 50 arbres indigènes dans des espaces publics et des cours d’école, en collaboration étroite avec les représentants municipaux et l’Autorité de conservation de la vallée de la Thames inférieure, afin de garantir que chaque arbre soutienne notre paysage local et la biodiversité.

Supporting Teen Parents: The New Beginnings Program



A Kiwanis Foundation of Canada Outreach grant has made a meaningful impact by supporting the New Beginnings initiative, a vital part of the Kiwanis Club of Abbotsford's Children Priority One programming. New Beginnings is dedicated to helping teen parents and their children thrive. Located at a local high school, the program offers teen students the opportunity to complete their education while their children are cared for at an on-site daycare.

Founded over 30 years ago by the Abbotsford club, the program continues to benefit from the generosity and dedication of club members. Volunteers regularly donate essential baby items such as diapers, bottles, clothes, shoes, and more. Additionally, members knit and sew backpacks filled with supplies for students to take home, including books, bottles, sweaters, sleepers, blankets, and other necessities.

Through ongoing support and community involvement, New Beginnings is making a lasting difference for young families in the Abbotsford, British Columbia area.

Soutenir les parents adolescents : Le programme Nouveaux Départs

Une subvention d’action communautaire de la Fondation Kiwanis du Canada a eu un impact significatif en soutenant l’initiative Nouveaux Départs, une partie essentielle du programme Priorité aux enfants du Kiwanis Club d’Abbotsford. Nouveaux Départs est dédié à aider les parents adolescents et leurs enfants à s’épanouir. Situé dans un lycée local, le programme offre aux élèves adolescents la possibilité de terminer leurs études pendant que leurs enfants sont pris en charge dans une garderie sur place.

Fondé il y a plus de 30 ans par le club d’Abbotsford, le programme continue de bénéficier de la générosité et du dévouement des membres du club. Les bénévoles font régulièrement don d’articles essentiels pour bébés tels que des couches, des biberons, des vêtements, des chaussures et plus encore. De plus, les membres tricotent et cousent des sacs à dos remplis de fournitures que les élèves peuvent rapporter chez eux, y compris des livres, des biberons, des chandails, des pyjamas, des couvertures et d’autres nécessités.

Grâce au soutien continu et à l’engagement de la communauté, Nouveaux Départs fait une différence durable pour les jeunes familles de notre région.

Feeding Windsor Essex: After School Soup Konnection (A.S.S.K)

The Kiwanis Club of Windsor is pleased to partner with Feeding Windsor Essex to deliver the After School Soup Konnection (A.S.S.K) program, an ongoing initiative designed to support children living in low-income housing. This program, spearheaded by Rodger Fordham, aims to address food insecurity and social isolation among children from Junior Kindergarten and up in the Lassaline, Grandview, and Curry/Mckay communities.

Kiwanis Club of Picton Sets a Shining Example in Member Recognition

The Kiwanis Club of Picton in recently celebrated the remarkable contributions of Frank and Linda Wilson, highlighting their leadership and unwavering commitment to community initiatives. Both Frank and Linda have played pivotal roles in a variety of club projects, with Linda in particular distinguishing herself through her initiative and tireless efforts. Her outstanding planning and organization have been the backbone of successful events such as the annual Canada Day and the County Pancake Breakfast, both cherished traditions in the Southern Ontario community of Picton.

In recognition of her exceptional service and dedication, Linda Wilson was honoured with the prestigious Mel Osborne Diamond Award for Community Leadership at a special ceremony on October 20^th, 2025. This award not only acknowledges Linda’s individual efforts but also underscores the importance of recognizing those who go above and beyond in service to others.

Le Kiwanis Club de Picton donne l’exemple en matière de reconnaissance des membres

Le Club Kiwanis de Picton a récemment célébré les contributions remarquables de Frank et Linda Wilson, soulignant leur leadership et leur engagement indéfectible envers les initiatives communautaires. Frank et Linda ont tous deux joué des rôles clés dans une variété de projets du club, et Linda s’est particulièrement démarquée par son initiative et ses efforts inlassables. Sa planification et son organisation exceptionnelles ont été le pilier d’événements réussis, tels que la fête annuelle de la Journée du Canada et le déjeuner aux crêpes du comté, deux traditions chères à la communauté de Picton, dans le sud de l’Ontario.

Welcoming Debbie Button to the Kiwanis Foundation of Canada Board of Directors

The Kiwanis Foundation of Canada is delighted to announce the appointment of Debbie Button to its Board of Directors. Debbie Button brings a wealth of experience and dedication to service, having joined the Kiwanis Club of Ridgetown in 2003, where Debbie Button has served as Past President and currently holds the roles of Treasurer and Aktion Club advisor. Debbie Button is also a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Port Stanley and an active member of the Centennial Internet Kiwanis Club, an innovative online club with global membership.

In addition to these roles, Debbie Button serves as the Club Leadership Education trainer for Division 4 and has contributed as a member of several District and International committees. Beyond Kiwanis, Debbie Button has extensive board experience, including five years on the Provincial Chapter of IODE Ontario board, where Debbie Button is currently Treasurer, and five years on the IODE Canada National Advisory Committee. A retired accountant, Debbie Button’s expertise and commitment to community service will be invaluable assets to the Foundation.

La Fondation Kiwanis du Canada a le plaisir d’annoncer la nomination de Debbie Button à son conseil d’administration. Debbie Button apporte avec elle une vaste expérience et un engagement exceptionnel au service, ayant joint le Club Kiwanis de Ridgetown en 2003, où elle a occupé le poste de présidente sortante et occupe actuellement les rôles de trésorière ainsi que de conseillère pour le Club Aktion. Debbie Button est également membre fondatrice du Club Kiwanis de Port Stanley et membre active du Club Kiwanis Internet du Centenaire, un club en ligne novateur comptant des membres à l’échelle mondiale.

En plus de ces fonctions, Debbie Button agit comme formatrice en leadership pour le club de la Division 4 et a contribué en tant que membre de plusieurs comités de district et internationaux. En dehors de Kiwanis, Debbie Button possède une solide expérience à titre d’administratrice, ayant siégé pendant cinq ans au conseil de la section provinciale de l’IODE Ontario, où elle est actuellement trésorière, ainsi que cinq ans au comité consultatif national de l’IODE Canada. Comptable à la retraite, l’expertise de Debbie Button et son engagement envers le service communautaire seront des atouts précieux pour la Fondation.
