For the third time Bolivar wins

Tri-Association Community Service Award

On September 30, 2022, in Panama, our Director Dr. Joseph Nagy and Dr. Wojciech Waliszewski, 10th grade Chemistry teacher and head of Agricultural Science and the Bolivar Garden, on behalf of Colegio Bolivar, received the Tri-Association* Community Service Award.

“The Tri-Association Board of Directors and I are amazed at the wonderful things you are doing within and outside of your Bolivar community as a result of this beautiful, integrated and very sustainable agricultural and community service-learning project. You are an example for all!”

Michael W. Adams, Ed.D.

Executive Director Tri-Association

The award was granted for the Bolivar Garden program, which develops  a sense of social conscientiousness in the student body, conceives community service projects and maintains the continuous participation of the Bolivar Community members (students, alumni, parents, teachers, employees and administrative team), who contribute in a valuable way in this initiative, to positively impact the lives of people and our planet.

This recognition ratifies the work carried out by the school for environmental awareness, sustainable development and vocational and vertical learning, which allows student interaction from El Nido to High School and enables school gardeners to be teachers and learners. It also acknowledges the Bolivar Garden's meaningful contribution to external communities as an important element in our students’ personal development and total educational experience.

Congratulations to Dr. Waliszewski for his leadership and the positive attitude he brings each day to approach this valuable educational experience, as well as every member of the Bolivar Community who with their effort, dedication and free time have contributed to the development and sustainability of this project.

“The Bolivar Garden will break down barriers in our community as we come together to learn about growing organic plants and food, whilst taking care of our natural environment in a sustainable way.”

Wojciech Waliszewski Ph.D.

Chemistry Teacher & head of Agricultural Science/Bolivar Garden
